Lol. I had a brand-new previous-gen IS350 for all of 3 months before selling it to Carmax and taking a bloodbath on it. That car was the single most incredibly uncomfortable car I've ever had the misfortune of owning. I took it home and bled some air out of the tires, hoping that was it, but it still rode like it had solid billet steel instead of springs and shocks. It would literally chip your teeth. I thought maybe they had failed to remove the wedges they put in the springs for transport, but the dealer checked and said no. I tried to get Lexus to buy it back, but they wouldn't, and the dealer wouldn't give me sh-t for it. I was so pissed off I drove it to Carmax and sold it at a huge loss.

That little car was quick, but I've never had a vehicle that rode so badly. The one you're driving must be worlds better than the one I had!

You must have never driven one of the original Mercedes Cla250s. It didn’t even have a suspension. I liked it that way but most people hated it. It was a fun car and turned heads just as much as the Stinger. It had not guts though.

Sorry to hear of your experience.
I have a 2006 msport that I still won't part with.
So, I completely understand your point.
The extra money for a better experience was completely worth it.
Imagine enjoying be at the dealership instead of dreading it.
That said , I have 3 grandkids that I don't feel Soo bad about them having ice cream in.
the rattles are becoming a bit of a pain but quite frankly I still can't find anything to replace it with so it will be here for a while.

FWIW I picked up a Stinger GT a few weeks ago and haven't heard any rattles yet. The only issue have right now is I can hear the steering wheel rub against the steering column cover when doing slow maneuvers.

Sure, but what is your definition of refinement? If you are so sure that the Kia is an inferior product I am just curious to see what objective measurements are you using or you are just using perception and subjective brand feelings.

I have had no quality problems with my Stinger its been solid no rattlers no nothing, it is engineered fantastically even the speakers were integrated into the chassis to avoid vibration, let alone the monstrous power this V6 gives you.
My local dealer has been very cordial, honest and clean, they have not damaged my car at all, I tell them not to wash the car they don't wash it, I tell them need a early oil change they do it, tell them I want to buy new wiper blades they say we will just replaced them for you just buy the part.

Again please define refinement of a car for you.

Rattles are definitely common, but the forumites here have isolated easy and cheap fixes for much of the noise. Most of it involves inserting washers or other thin cushioning under specific, easily accessible parts. I also put down Frost King insulation in my trunk bed - I forgot who here first suggested that but it eliminated quite a lot of excess noise coming from the back. My cabin is pretty hushed these days when I want it quiet, and I'm definitely one to listen for noises.

For those who feel vertical suspension travel is excessive, I swapped in Eibach springs and that was the end of that problem.

Chassis could definitely be stiffer but that depends on the driver's need for it - if you don't enjoy hard cornering it doesn't seem necessary. Since I'm looking to ultimately track my GT1, I'll definitely be adding some bracing on my next round of upgrades.

Would it be better if everything was perfect out of the box? Of course. But for me the question keeps coming down to 'do I enjoy this car enough to work out its problems and spend discretionary $$ on making it better'? So far for me the answer has been yes, quite a few times. The fact that the price was very accessible to start with definitely helps. Navigating the upgrade path has become its own form of entertainment for me, much to the chagrin of my wife...

Not, they are not common, although there is no denying people have had issues.
I’ve had my GT since Nov. 2017 & no real issues.

To judge by a forum, where people come to ask questions about "issues", extraneous noises seem common. But they are not. If "rattles" were typical Stinger behavior most of the reviews would have pointed to them. My car is almost 29 months old and past 36K miles and I have zero extraneous noises.

I've got a 2018 GT2 and have had no issues at all.

It's hard to say if it's any worse than any other car, people don't usually start up threads to say "My car has no rattles or squeaks" they typically come here if they have an issue. So that may make it look like it's bad. My only suggestion to you would be to drive the car for as long as they'll let you on a test drive and listen for anything that might bother you. Try to go over some train tracks and things like that if you can.

It seems to be fairly common among forum members. Kia service techs have proven themselves to be worthless in resolving any squeak/rattle issues but members of this forum have found ways to fix most of them.

My 2014 Porsche 981 door panel is warping and separating from glass here in sunny Florida a common problem for these cars, go to Porsche fomurus and you will see I am not the only one with this problem... I don't go around screaming Porsche cars are crap. The Stinger is a solid and refined car dudes!

This one shows headliner sagging, glue melted and fabric is sagging down, again Kias are solid and refined cars my dudes!
