Software Upgrade?

I went to my dealer today to enquire about the service advice in this thread: "Anyone having rattling in rear of car when the road is bumpy". He said that they have nothing on this at the moment but I will follow up in a month. What he did say was that they "only have two SA's one for a software upgrade and one for a rear badge issue". I didn't bother to ask him what the software upgrade was for as he said it was only if someone complained and it would be installed at the first service anyway. Obviously if he had told me what it was I would have complained and asked for a fix so I understand his reluctance to give too many details. Having said that it would be nice to know what the upgrade is all about so if anyone else can shed some light that would be great.

Thanks for the replies but as I said I did go in and specifically ask about the rear hatch issue (with a copy of SA322). Maybe it will never be an issue with any Australian vin numbers but I will keep checking? The badge (yes badge) was something about the paint bubbling around the edge of one of the rear badges.

Hopefuly someone can answer my original question which was "It would be nice to know what the software upgrade is all about so if anyone else can shed some light that would be great". This maybe an Australian specific issue which is why I posted here but potentially other markets may have the same problem.
 
Mine went in today, and I also mentioned the rear hatch rattle. Also had no more information, but will follow up.

I asked about map upgrades but nothing available. They didn't mention anything about rear badge problem (I've changed mine) or a software upgrade.

In regards to the paint around the badge - I have heard a few people say it was a problem - but mainly when removing the badge from their vehicle to install another. So I guess that's a real issue. Thank you for pretty much verifying that...

I changed the title of this discussion to "Software Upgrade?" as I think that will attract more of the right attention you're looking for to get an answer...

I think that's about people don't really like "KIA" badge on their Stinger and usually switch it to something else, so that now considered an issue :D

I find it interesting that AUS KIA isn't acknowledging issues that U.S. KIA is. Please keep us posted.
 
Kazz you have to keep in mind that all markets have different models with different ecu programming, different centre displays and software and I'm sure other things tailored to each market. So therefore just because there is an issue in say the US market it might not mean it will be in other markets. Also regarding the hatch rattle issue my understanding is that it was a production parts problem limited to a batch of vin numbers so maybe that batch went to the US and nowhere else. Anyway I will keep checking and if anyone finds an answer about what the software upgrade relates to then that would be great
