3.3TT So where is the Stingers weakest link?

In regards to the 3.3TT models, has anyone blown anything up yet? With the amount of torque people are making with minimal mods I've been quite surprised in the lack of issues arising.

Any reports of transmission issues yet? Or transfer case issues with the AWD? Coming from a Lancer Evo X the transfer case blowing up was my biggest fear every time I launched the car lol.

It'd be incredible if there have been no issues launching with 500+ ftlbs of torque.

The most common issues I’ve read about are the transmission getting sloppy or the turbo seals.

Turbo seals may be an issue if you go completely catless. There's no real benefit to going fully catless here, IMO. A high-flow cat somewhere can mitigate all that and give you basically the same gains.

If you launch using the brake snip method a lot, or upgrade the turbos and launch, the transmission and on occasion, transfer case for AWD cars seems to start acting up. Haven't seen much of anything saying catastrophic failure but more transmission slippage seems to become more of a risk.

The consensus among "those who know these things" is that the stock Stinger is very conservatively tuned. That is the open secret behind the 100K mile/10 year warranty. So, other than individual vehicles having a "weak link" there are no known issues with this car. It launches at a ridiculously low RPM, despite having gobs of torque. And if the trans fluid gets too heated up, the launch control simply refuses to engage. Kia built these cars to take abuse. Now, tuned Stingers, all bets are off.
