So where are we installing the aftermarket LED fog lights?

IMHO the first looks more "organic", i.e it's not too obvious, on the other hand, the second solution is probably easier to mount/install.
The purpose of fog lights is to go low down and illuminate the road surface below the fog, without reflecting light off the fog back to the driver.
How does one achieve this with vertically arranged lights?

I don't believe any of these fog lights are put on cars today for lighting up the road ahead. They're, in my opinion, for aesthetics only...

What about rear fog lamps? You know when the fog is really dense and the normal running lights just aren't bright enough to warn drivers behind you of your presence in front of them? I find these particular lights very annoying when they are not used correctly. ie: they are used for normal nighttime driving when visibility is not limited by any kind of fog or mist or rain. Perhaps I shouldn't raise this question?
It might give more encouragement to boy racers.

I also found it odd that the Stinger was not designed with fog lights.
And I agree that most fog lights are inadequate.
Other than for looks, this would be a great idea only if they were powerful enough to throw out a wide and useful light pattern.

BTW, I think rear fogs are one of the best ideas for safety and i'm surprised that they have not been made mandatory.
As mentioned, problem is that too many drivers don't use fogs correctly and the rears can be particularly annoying-when there is no fog.

The solution to this already exists...German cars automatically shut off (all) fog lights when the car is turned off so this
"overwhelming" responsibility doesn't fall on the "clueless" or absentminded driver.
