Yeah. They (tree roots or sometimes neighbors) are a pain. Hopefully, you won’t have to mess with it for a while.

We had exactly the same issues ( and even had raw %$# coming out of an inspection pipe ) but bit the bullet and got the offending clay pipe section ( and a fair chunk either side ) replaced with lined PVC. All good now.

Well I've already modified our refrigerator. Built a better duct system for air flow, retrofitted a more powerful cooling fan motor assy and insulated the refrigerant tank. Works much better a power consumption has decreased.

Might have to have a look at the clothes dryer......

I have lost count how many videos I've come across that show terrible corruption in many parts of this world. Funny enough the video I linked here is now "age-restricted" and will probably be removed in a few days. Scary world we live in now.


Perhaps that is the case but in that video I posted the man was standing and calmly speaking to the police when an officer came up behind him and slammed him HEAD FIRST onto the ground turning him into a vegetable. Draw your own conclusions. I'm very much a "police lives matter" kinda guy but I also am not afraid to call out brutality and corruption.

There was some remodeling done decades ago in the basement. I think they screwed around with the sewer routing since a new tub in a different location was installed. The root issue seems to happen in a branch line, not the main. I'd love to have the offending line scoped to see how/where it goes and what's blocked.

Plumber used a 6" cutter in a 4" pipe (one of those spring loaded deals). Last 2 times they pulled toilet on the other side of the wall to clean out. Plumber said that wasn't ideal because he can't get the big cutter in there. At that time the cleanout was covered by drywall. He recommended locating and making the cleanout accessible for next time. I suppose if this lasts for 2 years then it's not that bad.

Oh yeah absolutely. I always say it's vital for people to see both sides of the story and the entire video leading up to the confrontation... in this specific situation (and others I have come across) it is blatant police brutality.
