Why, on the dash, do the arrows conflict with each other? The arrow on the analog gas gauge points to the correct side, but the one I tend to look at on the digital display points to the wrong side! The first two times I came to the gas station I had to get back in and point the car in the other direction

Has anyone else noticed this? I took this picture from google images so I know it's not just a fluke on my vehicle.

The arrow is clearly pointing to the right on the center display, and to the left on the gas gauge. That's my point. Why don't they both point left?

I don’t know why they used an arrow to make you remember when to go to the gas station, but I think it is specifically pointing at the gas pump logo. Kia’s way of saying “distance to empty”

Your picture doesn't show the gas gauge so I can't see where it points but the picture of the gas pump that you circled points to where pump gas.

If that's truly what they were going for then I guess I kinda see it, but it's such a common thing nowadays for "arrow next to gas symbol" to mean "hey dummy, the door's on this side" so it's, at minimum, sloppy execution. Who knows, maybe some day they'll change it in a software update if we all complain enough

The one you circle shows "distance to empty" - the arrow is showing how far to go until you need fuel.

The one on the fuel gauge shows where the filler is.

I drove for 18 years with no newfangled gas gauge arrows and loved every minute of it! haha

Every vehicle I've owned since the mid 90's has had a fuel door arrow.

I agree with eflyguy, that’s how I interpreted the first time I saw. It’s a real tiny difference but the “standard” for indicating what side the gas cap is on is a just a triangle, not an arrow. That little tail on the Distance indicator is all the difference lol. At least that’s how it was originally invented.

It’s indicating “distance (arrow) to refuel (bowser/pump)”.
Fuel gauge points to where the flap is.

I remember thinking this was odd too. Of course, I didn't even know about the gas filler side arrow until a few years ago when I saw it on a "life hacks" video on youtube! (Oh, and I'm 46, so it's not like I just started driving a few years ago) I was like, "Every time I rented a car, I could have really used this!!!!"
