On my way home from work today I stopped at a corner neighborhood convenience store and was told by the clerk that the Stinger is nothing compared to the

other cars out there racing around the city I live in and to which I offered "Well, it's a really fun car". He then asked "How much horsepower does that car have?"

I said, well around 367hp or so, he said "that car will never hold up, twin turbos on that engine?" I chuckled and walked out and noticed that his ride was a clapped

out Suby Legacy and I thought to myself, the Stinger gets no respect and that's okay with me because when you know...you know.

Those who know...know. A Stinger is a car enthusiast vehicle. Anyone who disses my Stinger - I say find a negative review of the Stinger from any reputable automotive publication and I'll put Crappy Car banner on the upper windshield of my beast. No winners to date.

Whats also crazy is the YouTube comments on the car. There always a bunch of people talking about how Kia engines explode and they are fire hazards.

Even if you tell them the 3.3TT has been solid, they say 'Google the engine is has a ton of problems. It explodes when you try to mod it.' I'm like, dude I follow the car religiously. The 3.3TT is very reliable. The worst thing to come is the recall on the oil feed line. They just don't believe it and keep parroting the Kia is trash stuff.

Its not even worth arguing anymore. I can search and find a ton of recalls/issues for the German competitors for this car. Electronic stuff that can cause fires. Recent Mercedes C classes have more recalls than Stingers. But people continue to worship at the German altar for the badges.

Badge snobbery is a real thing lmao. Bang for buck when the stinger was still new was so hard to beat ! Also helps that with still less then 8k in mods it seriously punches above its weight class

It is funny how the perception of KIA is this way. But, they kinda deserve it. (dealerships are garbage) ICE's are a dead horse for them due to the

problems they had with other models (different engines outside of the 3.3) and since they are a the red headed step sister to Hyundai they have to follow

the company line. Now the Gennie line has most of the interesting ICE's and you will pay a premium to get one. (V6 or better) No ICE halo cars

for KIA or Hyundai. We are just glad that we were able to be a part of Korean car history...It was very cool to watch and

participate. We would do it again...the car is just that much fun to drive and look at. But, it is just a car...and I say f*ck it! Enjoy it!

I agree ! The dealerships are something thankfully I went FBO almost from brand new so I wouldn't even be able to claim warranty had I needed it

I had so many onlookers tonight comment on the sound coming out of my car on the front straight and the back straight at the racetrack.

Pretty simple, catless pipes and a Tork mid section with NO tailpipes..

The burbles on lift off with E85 are unreal and there was a few flames even with only 16 psi!

We got a few more followers tonight, I beat a Trackhawk twice still dunno how, many supercharged GMH variants a bunch of BARRA'S and a couple of Honda's lol, the one brand that I could not gap was the Audi brigade with their flame throwing RS3's

*sigh*

But... there was mutual respect and that has been severely lacking in the car scene for a long time... especially from online phuckwits that can't even spell KIA let alone appreciate them...
