Yeah I tried it and didn't notice any difference in sound. I have DIY intakes.Stock BoV's do make some noise once cold air intakes are installed.
Really? Did you let the car warm up first? Mine is pretty loud I can hear it inside the car with the windows up. I have stock BOV and Injen intakes.Yeah I tried it and didn't notice any difference in sound. I have DIY intakes.

Yeah I can hear it but it's not any louder than it is with hoses hooked up.Really? Did you let the car warm up first? Mine is pretty loud I can hear it inside the car with the windows up. I have stock BOV and Injen intakes.
Yup put on its lowest setting and buy an aftermarket exhaust lol haven’t heard mine since.Waking up an old post with an off the subject question-with all this dyi sound, is there a way to completely disable the fake “engine/exhaust sound” from inside your car???
So I just took off the hoses from the bov sounds amazing!! I didn’t put any covers or anything what would I need to use to cover and where ??? And is this safe or should I just get a bov?? I’m just wondering haven’t drove it yet
Will doing this diy mod ruin anything has anyone drived with it?? Ran this mod since day one in 3/2018 and not one problem
Safe. But you do need to cover the openings on the intake tubes where those hoses connect. If I remember correctly 1” chair leg caps work well.So I just took off the hoses from the bov sounds amazing!! I didn’t put any covers or anything what would I need to use to cover and where ??? There is a screen on them. It won’t get small particles but anything larger. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but it is a good idea to put little filters on the bov because some air can reenter the bov as the pressure goes down. I have seen this on some after market bov, while other don't include small air filter.
It might be better to be safe then have unfiltered air enter the bov just before the pressure drop causes the valve to close.
