Hi all,
Just introducing myself - my names Mitch and I picked up my Stinger on Thursday it. It's a snow white GT, April 2018 build date.
Day 3 with the car and done about 350kms so far. Love it more and more every time I drive it.
Got a Borla exhaust on the way from the US which should be here later this month.
Other mods I'm considering at this stage are a cold air intake, window tinting and roof wrap.
This place seems like a great community full of awesome advice and friendly people.
Cheers,
Mitch

Welcome - please post some pictures in the Garage section!

Howdy and welcome. Are you going to debadge ?
Undecided at this stage. Thinking I will at least install the large stinger badge in the centre on the rear. But that's purely because I like how it looks rather than hiding the fact that the car is a Kia. Part of me wants to keep people guessing when they see the car, but the other part of me wants to be proud that Kia have created such a great car.

Let's give Kia some credit for what they are producing now. Optima, Cadenza and the Stinger. Actually, all of their models are as good as any.

Congratulations and Welcome...……… Great colour choice......

Be proud of driving a KIA. Especially knowing that it can cut up a C43 AMG. Toasted one last night. Just love my beast.

Yeah I've decided I'm keeping the KIA badges on the car. The only one I have removed is the rear badge and replaced it with the larger stinger badge because I love how it looks. The remaining KIA badges are staying on the car.

Did you do the rear debadge yourself?

Yep sure did. Used a hair dryer to heat it up, then used dental floss and slowly sawed away at it. Then used Orange Power Sticky Spot & Goo Dissolver from Woolies to remove the remaining adhesive. It wasn't easy to remove, but eventually came off with no damage to the paint. Applying the new badge was the easy part - just double checking positioning and measurements is the important part coz once it's on, it's on good.

You are very lucky, previous posts have recommended not removing it that way as it damages paint. Anyway its done and i presume it looks good:)

Oh really? I read heaps of posts on here and watched a few videos and I thought this seemed the preferred way to remove it. How else are you meant to do it?
Yeah it looks great. Really happy with it.

I did mine in January on a 41c day, that covered the heating process & used fishing line & my fingers to remove adhesive residue.....simples.

The goo gone normally takes the paint finish off but in this case you have done ok also the hair dryer can sometimes weaken the paint and it can peel off.
