I just got a 2019 Stinger GT and just about done with the recommended 600 mile break in period. I don’t want to risk any issues with the warranty (10 year 150,000 miles) but would‘t mind a little some extra performance. I’ve read people write that a tune makes the car drive like it was supposed to out of the factory. I don’t race or anything. And I don’t want to damage the car or anything. Had a VW GTI and had a stage 1 APR tune and it was a great modification. Of course, the warranty had expired so that wasnt and issues. Think I just run it stock but would love to hear what others suggest. Thanks! Great car btw.

ok you have a lot of oxymorons like i want to tune but not void warranty .....thats should not go on the same sentence......base on what you are explaining just get a JB4 piggyback and you will be happy....its very easy to install and remove if you need to go to the dealers....i would also recommend some intakes ...if you want to save money there is a DIY intake thread where you can do intakes for under 100 bucks... FYI all the info your looking for is on this forum you need to search and read....cheers hope this helps

A simple piggyback like JB4, some intakes, maybe catback for sound, and maybe DPs sounds like is all you need, at most. That should get you just over 400 to the wheels without going crazy. And for the love of everything...stop saying voiding warranty... Starting to sound like a damn broken record around here with that. Any of the mods I listed won't void your warranty. The JB4 will be noted if they see it and if you end up with engine and maybe transmission issues later they'll have grounds to try to deny your warranty claim on that but aside from that every other aspect of your warranty is still intact.

I would be very careful....you have to be concerned about voiding warranty, simple mods can void warranty.... it is all dependent on the dealer and their staff.....some dealers are lenient and some are ass holes....so i recommend any time you go to the dealer especially for a recall or engine work you remove the mods especially the JB4 but again is simple to remove....you rather be safe than sorry.....

I tried hard not to write void warranty :-)

I have read other posts here that mention spark plugs need some changing to prevent issues with JB4. I want to keep things simple and JB4 sounds like what I might want unless spark plugs need to be addressed as well. This is really helpful info.

Yes colder spark plugs is definitely recommended i for got the part number but there denso there the cheapest... or you can re-gap th OEM to .026-.028...but if you are doing JB4 dont cut corners and get the plugs ...there to hard to change....hope this helps there are videos on you tune on changing the plugs and you dont have to remove the intake manifold to do the plugs like Tork did....

I bought mine on amazon but you can get them here at the Stinger store....

get the Lap3USA.COM PRO TUNER....You will be blown away by the results!!! And as always, I would like to reiterate on ,making sure whatever tune device you purchase... make sure your listening closely to make sure you don't have spark ping! There are many fuel source upgrades that can assist you in getting your octane level up to par..I speak from personal experience when I say this, I am in Va.. we have poor fuel quality and its currently on the winter blend formulas. You can upgrade any fuel with seeking the advice of a tech at Boostane.com.
You can always pm me and I can share my experiences with what I have done to my car...

Do you like the pro tuner? whats you opinion on it?

I love it!!!!!!!! It’s extremely extremely smooth!! It’s insane how your car pulls with it installed! It really is too much, but I still love it!! I do run an e85 blend though, just to be safe! We have poor fuel here! I am going to convert over to Boostane fuel supplement soon. Probably order a box of 8 cans this week. It’s truly amazing how the car just pulls and doesn’t stop!! It even seems like it wants to just keep going and going!! I have mine installed and it looks oem. I have the actual module Velcro fastened to the lid of fuse box.

Nice man ..... have you been able to dyno or run 1/4 miles times yet ??? What other mods you got ?

No I have not dyno tested the car... I only have HKS plugs with the Pro Tuner.. I am probably gonna leave it alone because it truly is stupid fast!! I am a detail guy, so I am all about keeping it clean and looking OEM. I do have the Eibach Springs on it, and am still awaiting the rear bar to complete the kit. I have the front bar also in a spare room, and was still on the fence about putting it on the car. The springs upgrade alone is that good in my opinion!! Only thing I can tell you is the car is just extremely fast, and you don't even realize what is going on with the digits on the speedo! It just pulls and is crazy!! I never get on it from a dead stop, because I am trying to preserve the rear tread!! I would assume it would light them up from a dead stop, because if you role into it from 15-25 it might step out to the side just a tad, and then it hooks and goes!! Lap3USA has adjusted the Tq. parameters perfectly within the tune!! This in my opinion allows the power to be delivered in the smooth linear fashion that it does! If your on the fence about getting the device, I am always available to speak with about more details via phone. I am just extremely pleased with the module and all the wiring harnesses and connections that it comes with. I know people say the PRO Tuner is difficult to install, however, speak with ,me via phone, I can help with tips and tricks to get you installed in a few minutes! Also, the actual module box itself is built from quality metal and has a good heat sink fin built in.

And lastly, no 1/4 mile times.. only thing I can say is its stupid fast!! It really is too much on the street.

I dont about too much on the street LOL..... Is there such thing as too fast? But great to hear you love it.... when you get a chance you should dyno nd run the car 1/4 mile and post the info here that would help a lot of people...

Trust me... If you get it?? Put it on Mode -2 on the new app! Put about 4 gallons of e85 fuel and then top it off with 91 or 93 octane. Drive around gently for approximately 10-20 miles, and then get on it from around 15mph. All I can say is... you better be super careful where you are and you better be going in a straight line!! Lol. Better not hold it down too long, you might wind up getting your license taken from you for ever. ‍♂️♂️ You can also achieve the same fuel level with approximately .5 can of Boostane Premium. All dependent on your States fuel pump quality. I am in Va, so I can only offer this. If your close to me? I can allow you to go for a demo ride.

Magnuson-Moss Act. You can't just "void" a warranty for aftermarket parts. You're not wrong in asking your dealer how they feel about aftermarket parts, but that doesn't mean anything. If you come in for warranty work on say, the speakers or the hatch rattle, the fact that they find a JB4 or intakes or springs or anything else not connected or associated with whatever you're getting worked on will not affect your warranty claim. They still have to honor it. The only issue is if something breaks that a dealer can somewhat prove your mods either caused or heavily contributed to the failure. For the majority of dealers they won't even notice anything up to evidence of tuning, messing with primary cats, or the engine/turbo itself with the exception of maybe spark plugs.

I partially agree.....that act is BS you dont have more money that KIA for one to fight at the end of the day if they decide to void your warranty....if you go for blown speakers and they see a JB4 an other mods they will notate that in their system and guess what happens next time go in for warranty work and something is wrong with the engine or trans? Like I said i have experienced this first hand with a mustang .....took it in for some recall to change the trunk hatch and guess what they seen the the mods to it and then put it on their system....About a month or so after I was leaking oil from the timing belt which was a common issue on it based on other people experiences on the forum and guess what they didnt warranty they blamed the mods....and no i was not going to spend a shit ton of money to take them to court lol ...so guess what i paid 1200 to get it done from a private shop....so i would not recommend or encourage anyone to take the risk....
