Going to dealership to do the ecu recall and to fix some paint. Should I remove my pro tuner? Can they void warentee with nothing wrong? Just looking for input because they will see it if I don’t remove it but there are no issues. Just looking for some input

Absolutely yes, remove it. They can't void your warranty but they can definitely make a note in the system to flag your car as tuned - if anything goes wrong in the future they have grounds to deny working on it.

Is this a joke?!

Was not intending it to be I just know all dealerships are different and I was unaware if they could tag a car like the last person answered. I will be removing it before I bring it in I just hope the cel doesn’t come on due to the down/midpipe

Arguably the only reason to use a piggyback over ECU tune is because it's removable.

Dealerships definitely take note of mods. I had a lifted 4runner with larger than stock tires and brought it in for free Toyota service. When I picked it up there was a large yellow sticker with barcode on the door sill stating the vehicle had aftermarket mods and listing the mods.

They probably all do it their own way but notes will be made.

YES, 1000% remove it. On my benz, I left the pedal commander in (because its a bitch to take out) and they flagged my car. So any mod needs to be removed, unless you just dgaf.

100% take it off. Don't run the risk of them flagging the VIN.

Sounds good I’ll remove all electrical mods so pro tuner and pedal tuner they know about the cai and dident care and I’m not going under to put stock pipes back on so oh well on that one But there just repairing paint and doing the recall so I don’t think it’s a reason for them to go exploring

If you have a good relationship with your dealer youll be fine.

My dealer has a tuned GT2 on the showroom floor. They did all the mods themselves, including sending the ecu off to modified. The GM said the company backed them up on it.

I had a blown right rear shock on my GT2, I found it when installing the eibachs....had it fixed under warranty. I did take pics of the fluid before installing the springs but had no trouble getting the shock replaced. On a side note, I bought the springs because the rear end was all over the place haha. No wonder, I had 1 shock working for me. I handles pretty good now.

When you say it was all over the place, what do you mean? During take off? High speeds?

All of it, the rear end was bouncing and lifting in corners. I assumed that was how everyones stinger rode until I had it fixed.

All depends on your dealership. If they're cool guys who are genuine car enthusiasts, they don't list anything unless it absolutely has to be related. Even then, sometimes they'll just quietly ignore it.

But if you run into total dickwads, they'll do everything they can to avoid doing repairs and try to slap you with a bill.

They can mark absolutely anything added to or modified on the vehicle and will if, once again, you've got one of "those" dealerships, lol

As I said in another thread, that's why we designed the JB4 so you get similar performance without having to deal with that headache sensor install! :)

Back to the orignal question they can flag any modifications even something like a muffler delete, and almost always something like downpipes.

I’m aware and herd nothing but good things from the jb4 but after 2 engine failures from a buss and boost chip on a sonata it doesn’t give me the piece of mind I would like . When a proper ecu tune comes out I’ll probly get that but in the meantime I don’t mind the struggle if it means reliably =]
