• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Shop says new rims won't clear calipers

"Website"? Is that CT's own online ordering?
Yes. I'm promised they'll "escalate " the issue that the product is advertised as 18 inches in every single possible place despite the manufacturer only making that model in 16 inches. But it took an hour or phone tag and an automotive department manager gaslighting me for anyone to admit that no, I did NOT just mistakenly order 16 inch rims because I'm a clueless country bumpkin using the Internet for the first time.

Personally, I consider CT to be worse than stealers-hips. I would NEVER have car repairs/work done at CT and only go to stealerships for warranty work. I have been taking my cars to an independent shop for the last 20+ years.

For my Stinger I bought winter alloy rims and tires from the dealership as part of the car purchase deal. It went very well with zero issues.

My suggestion is to give up on CT and go to a reputable Kia dealership.

Back in the day (2019) Durham Kia used to sell steelies winter package for a few hundred. I think those were the only steelies compatible.

I picked up 18" alloys with 3mm spacer in the front which did the trick. I bought mine through CEO tires in Scarborough if you happen to be in GTA. Their pricing was one of the best when I bought mine in 2019, can't guarantee what the pandemic has done to their pricing.

I'm in Calgary. Bar none our dealerships are trash here.

One ruined my side skirts twice because techs that aren't certified on the lift...used the lift. Days long fight with GM every time despite telling them I've got the walk around videos at dropoff and pickup. They call every six months or so and ask why I haven't been back for a service interval and when I ask if they remember me driving a loaner for two collective months while they fixed my car twice they apologize and offer to vacuum my floor mats.

Another tried to bait a switch me on a Niro a couple years back. I had literally paid my deposit, finished signing finance work, and I was moving my belongings from my trade in to the new Niro when the employee came outside to tell me there had been a mistake and that I paid for a lower trim level. I said I took pictures of the signed term sheet and he stammered for a bit before I told him to unwind the sale entirely. He said they couldn't but when I told my wife to Google the number for AMVIC he said he'd bring the mobile point of sale out.

Another has done all of the warranty work on my spouse's Sorento. Disasters every time. Go to pick up your car and it's entire heating system has been cannibalized for a newer customer's Sorento, but "Don't worry this means you get a new one at no cost to you" except all they're supposed to do is change the oil and replace a faulty fuel rail recall, not use my wife's 2021 like a f**king Pick n Pull for other customers.

Another told me they won't service my car because of the aftermarket turbos. My car is stock. This is a dealership with a Tribute on the showroom floor whose techs literally refused to work on my stock vehicle. That's how familiar they are with a five year old platform. I admit that all I'm comfortable doing are my own engine air filters and rear diff fluid and career mechanics seem to know less about my vehicle than I do at that Kia. Salesman said I should have paid for the higher trim to get rear heated seats and AWD. I have the GT Limited. Its the highest trim. I have rear heated seats. I told him all Canadian models are AWD. He didn't want to small talk with me anymore.

I'm glad some people have good dealerships. I simply haven't had that luck, so I have my oil changes done locally by an owner/operator who treats my vehicle like his own Audi, and does it for 60% of what the dealership wants for the same service.

I'm not a demanding person. I'm told by my spouse frequently that I should be more vocal. It's just been really typical 99% effort to get new customers in and 1% to keep the previous ones around here.

Geez that sounds like a mess. I think that a weak sales and service options from Kia are definitely a weak point for such a wonderful car.

If you have Costco membership they usually have 20-25% off their alloy wheels and tire combo (next one should be around black Friday), you pay a little extra but worth getting something that fits without needing additional clearance. I got my summer tires from Costco and they had no issue mounting and fitting on one of their alloys on my car although they wouldn't do my oil change because they weren't familiar with this car. They still decline doing oil change but no issue with tire swaps.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
@RMiddy You just can't fix stupid any more..... Best not to get into debates with those not without fully functioning brains.

Unfortunately it is far too common. I was having some brake issue. I had parked the car outside for two weeks returning from a vacation. Brakes were slipping/skipping, and didn't have the same response time. I took it to the dealership within the 1.5 year of ownership, approx 25,000km.

After checking the car, one of them told me I need to pay 800$ to replace all four pads. Wasnt happy with that answer so I took it to another.

Another dealer won't check the car and said it was too common with the sports car and I need new rotors. I complained to the manager that the service tech without looking recommended repairs that are out of pocket expense for me. the managers started swearing, saying I was wasting their time :/ - definitely the worst of them

Finally took it to the dealer a town over, they charged me for diagnostic which was 40$ and found there was debris stuck in my front pads that wouldn't dislodge under braking. Probsbly got there heavy wind and rain/snow in December. This dealership mentioned my pads and rotors were like new with very minimum wear and tear.

I replaced my brake system this year when they passed 100,000km. I still had pads and rotors remaining. Got it done from a local shop that had been operating on the car for past two years.

I would've called the cops on the spot. In most states in the US, taking of property without owner's permission constitutes theft or grand larceny, depending on how much the parts are worth. I cannot imagine Canada is any different.

Here in TX, theft of more than $2500 is a state jail felony.

that is strange, because I've seen pictures of canadian stingers with plain steel wheels for winter setups, so they obviously found 'steelies' that work with brembo brakes. and your merchants said 'they work'. but they don't. I wonder how this online information got fouled up.
I can confirm I have steelies that fit perfectly
