• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hello all,

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but I have decided to sell my Kia Stinger GTS 2018. Nice example beautiful red with the red interior. If anybody is looking mine is on autotrader.

I have been toying with the idea of getting the facelift model, does anybody know the exact difference between the 2021 and 2022 model?

Thanks

I have a 2023. Changes just off the top of my head (I'm sure I've missed a few):
Different tail lights, plus a light bar all the way across the back.
Different emblems, logo.
Larger and updated info system and screen.
Updated interior features and materials, 360 camera etc.
A few more horses under the hood (V6).
No more 2.0 engine. Now it's either a 2.5 or the V6.
Larger exhaust outlets.

I'm sure there's more, but it's a start.

In the UK the facelift had already landed by 2021 so we already had the rear light upgrade and 360 camera by then, the GT top spec was the only variant by that point. There were then some very minor updates in 22.

Differences from 21 to 22 here are...

Infotainment system is MY22 instead of MY21, Same larger screen but only difference I can tell is that 22 has over the air updates available.

Updated badges front and back and on the steering wheel airbag

Perhaps larger exhaust tips but not 100% on that one, still no valved exhaust in the UK though regardless.

The face lift changes are a little different between different markets, but in NA they also:

Got rid of the exclusive Detonator-style Stinger key fob and use a generic one now
Got rid of the sunglasses holder by the sunroof controls
Got rid of the G-force meter and lap timer
Got rid of the AUX port

I'd waited for the refresh to pull the trigger on a new Stinger and was very familiar with the original features after many test drives, so it sucked to slowly discover all the missing features after I'd finally bought one, but I survived. Barely.

Thanks all for the info, so I think the 2022 model in UK the only difference I can tell from 2021 is the badges and it might have the indicator camera appear on screen.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Would there be a preference then between the 2021 or 2022 in the UK if you was looking to purchase one? Also does the seat bolster for driver tighten automatically in sports mode on the 2021?

If anybody is genuinely in the market for a Stinger then feel free to drop me a message I am selling mine, I know it's a niche market but those who know they know. :)

For me I'd prob go for the 2021, I like the the detonator style fob so that would be enough to swing it for me. I do much prefer the new style Kia logos on the 22 compared to the ugly 21 badges though. I ended up changing to the E badges because of them but I'd be quite happy with the new style ones.

Plus you have to pay an extra £355 VED for the first 5 years on both so the 2021 is going to be up a year sooner.

As for the active seat bolster, yes it activates when you turn to sport mode on the 21.

Thanks for responding, that makes sense. Yes I must say the old Kia logo doesn't do it any justice, I've got only the stinger writing on the back which gives it a clean look and the e badge on front. The new Kia logo is ok so I would also leave that on front.
