Hi all,

I was looking into more performance and was thinking about switching out my stock secondary downpipes to match my MBRP exhaust. Don't really care about how loud it is, just want to rip it faster down the track. So far I'm looking into Ark ones, has anyone have other recommendations? I also looked into the Ultimate Performance once but at 1500.00 bucks it's out of my price point.

You're gonna get little to no performance out of secondary downpipes, they just sound good. I have heard good things about the JunBL set as well.

I got Borla and jun BL and love em. Bout to switch out the primaries for ones with HFC 200s.

I did. I had the Borla by itself for at least 6 months before I got Jun BL. I allowed the Borla to ‘carbon up’ to hear the sound after it had broken in. Then decided to add to it based on my research. It was a great move. Now my Stunger has a fuller sound, really rich. Love it. I’ve had it since early March. I probably will get the final layer (primaries) in the next couple of months but its not needed for sound. I’m looking at the primaries from a performance standpoint.

MBRP Downpipes??

MBRP does not offer secondary downpipes for the Kia Stinger that I am aware of. (They only offer their catback exhaust)

As of now, the only (2) companies I am aware of that make secondary downpipes are Ark Performance & Jun BL. (Although I am sure there are more out there)

The reality is, you will get some HP gains by removing the factory secondary downpipe with catalytic converter, and replacing it with the new one without the cats.

However, the real power gain comes from replacing both the primary & secondary downpipes on the car with the Ultimate Performance Kit.

This kit above makes around 45hp & 62ft lbs of torque on a stock 3.3T Stinger. These are ridiculous HP & torque gains and nothing else on the market in terms of mods, other than a tune will net that kind of power gain.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to order with a discount.

@DekCan I presume you already have piggyback or some sort of tune. Otherwise, I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

This is the factory ECU with the factory secondary pipes vs Ark pipes (I had an intake and 1 step colder Denso plugs, no other power mods):

Even with a tune, you won't see huge PEAK gains. What you will get is a consistent bump across the majority of the power band:

Basically, the bottleneck isn't in the secondary pipes. The primary downpipes are more of a hindrance. But, as @K8 Stinger Store pointed out, if you're doing the primary pipes, you might as well do the secondary... since you'll be down there anyhow.

Thanks! I'll definitely spend my money elsewhere now. Maybe in the future I'll do the primaries.
