Seats warm, not suited for tall people

i'm 6'5 and i have not had any issues with the seating. I do have it all the way back, down, and a little reclined, but all in all its a very comfortable ride.

Today I tried moving the seat back a fair amount, much farther than I'd normally sit. That opened up a bit of headroom, and allowed me to make my seat a bit more upright. I also pushed the lumbar support all the way back, and it was much more comfortable. The main issue now is with the "shoulder" padding against my back, but that may lose fluff with time, or I might just open the seat and take some out. I can live with it now, so I don't think a new seat will be necessary. The seat was much less hot with the "lumbar" (which at it's highest position isn't anywhere near my lumbar) support fully retracted as well.
Yeah, I'm sitting in basically the same position as you. I have lumbar alllll the way deflated(?). I hate the feeling of it pushing into my back.

at 6'3", 235lbs, i find the stinger to be very comfortable. lumbar set to max, slight recline. like i have posted before, i find that my right knee rubs at the edge of the center console. other than that, i find, for a first time shot at a gt, kia has hit it on the nose. granted, the best seats i have ever sat in were in my volvos, but, different type of car.

I drove my stinger for a couple hours yesterday, and it was pretty uncomfortable for two reasons. The main issue is the seats are designed for shorter people (as is the roof height). My shoulders are against the head rest. I'll probably just find some custom seats that sit lower in the vehicle, as I prefer to sit upright, rather than reclined--which I have to do in the Stinger.

I also found the seats to be quite warm. I wonder if this is due to the seat skin or the the stuffing in the seat. My previous car was a Saab, and the pleather seats were very comfortable and did not get hot (I regularly drove 8+ hour stretches in it). I never understood why people didn't like long drives until driving the Stinger for a couple hours. I'd say if you have a longer torso, unless you're replacing the seats, the car is probably not good for long drives.

I became interested in Kia when I tried their Forte5 at an autoshow a couple years ago. I can't fit in Audi's or most non-American cars, and was thinking that when a more powerful Forte5 came out, I'd buy that. I was told the Stinger had as much headroom as a Forte5, but it's as short as a Audi. Maybe the seats in the Forte5 are the difference, and could be drop-in replacements for the Stinger.

This isn't a "too tall" issue. Many of us are taller than you and have no problem. You admit to having weird proportions. No car company can build a car that will fit the size of every person on the planet. Instead they focus on fitting 99%. You just happen to be in the 1%.

You're a Martian. :p

My previous car was a Saab, so, I was also accustomed to Swedish seats (the best in the industry). I'd been patiently waiting for the new Volvo V60 to come out, as the V90 has the best interior/seats of any car period. However, one look at the side profile of the new V60 and...nope. Stinger it was. I wish they made the Stinger in a wagon, but, there is no perfect car. I think the Stinger is great for what it is, but, it sure would be nice if Swedish ergonomics were brought to all car seats. Everyone says Volvo seats are the best, so why don't other makers copy them? It's not rocket science. :)

I’m 6’3 and don’t have much of an issue sitting in car exiting however is interesting

like neverthought [psted, venitlated seats are the greatest invention since the electric guitar and nutella

I'm about 6"3 and no issues. I think it's not really the height, but the upright sitting position. Maybe try to drive with a bit more inclination and see if you can get used to that position. The Stinger seat is already pretty close to the floor, not sure if you can find a lot thinner replacement seats.

I get sore bum in any car driving longer than 3-4 hours anyway, including an S-class.

Putting wheels on your house may make your trips more comfortable?!?!!;)

P.S. I thought Lexus has the most comfortable seat in the industry?

Comfort is relative. I don't think there's a way to actually measure how comfortable something is.

A few years ago I bought a Nissan Altima. The dealer told me about how Nissan's Zero Gravity seats were supposed to be the most comfortable seat available in any car. He went on and on about pressure points, ergonomic designs, and on and on. I sat in the car and couldn't tell the difference between them and any other seat I've ever sat in.
