On certain roads I'm hearing a rattle/vibration noise coming from the front seat belt adjusters. This is the part that allows vertical adjustment of the seatbelt - in red below.

Seems the spring they used is too weak. Certain roads generate a resonance and an annoying rattle. Suggestions?

How did you manage to localize it? Does the noise stop when you press on that button to move the seatbelt? I'm asking because I also get a noise from that area only when driving on really rough surfaces but have never been able to figure out where it comes from.

I used my ears :) I heard something rattling/vibrating to my immediate left (adjuster seems to be near ear level). Touching it when on an rough rode would make the noise go away. The fact that there's a minute amount of play and I can rattle it by hand suggests that's the culprit.

Sometimes the actual buckle clacks against the B pillar. I haven't heard anything up as high as the "hanger". If it gets to be too noticeable, nothing is easier than attaching some felt tape behind it to dampen the clack sound. That should be true for the hanger area too.

So this buzz has been bugging me since day one (8 months now). Tonight I poked around a bit and realized I could stuff something in the area in yellow (zoom in close to see). It's the area above the adjuster button. I have these velco strips that came with a pc power supply for bundling wires/cables together. I was able to wedge it in each of the front seat belt adjusters. Will road test some time this week.

let us know.

With a passenger it doesn't though.

Interesting. I get the buzz on either side. My passenger usually rides in the rear, so front is always unoccupied. A proper solution to this would be a stronger spring inside the mechanism and or some felt in certain areas that rub against each other.

Ironic how the last 2 cars ('15 accord, and '12 G37) both had adjustable seat belts but neither buzzed.

Silence is golden! ~100 miles of highway driving this morning, not a peep! So just shove it in there and enjoy the silence. I'll probably just leave it the way it is in the pics as there no little kids or dogs present that may want to pull on it or pull it out.
