I got screwed

Took it to Discount. Kinda want to cross my fingers now! Fortunately it is in the tread.

Should buy a replacement certificate while you’re there. I saved so much on replacements in a year since my car is a nail sucker

There’s no prorating or disqualification, and no mileage adjustment. 85.3% of customers actually use their Certificates and 97.1% said they would buy them again!
If a tire covered by Certificates fails due to a defect or non-repairable damage, has been in use less than three years from the date of purchase, and still has the legal tread (3/32’’) remaining, we’ll refund the full purchase price. You can use your Certificates at any of our 1,000-plus locations.

Interestingly they also will allow you to purchase certificates for oem/tires not purchased from them, if they carry it.

Yup! I purchased my last set of tires from tire rack and had it shipped there for installation. Purchased the 4 certificates and they’ve come in handy. Peace of mind is everything. Free flat repair or replacement if warranted. Why pay a couple hundred for a new tire vs. $23-$25 per tire/certificate?

I always buy their road hazard warranty. I've gotten more out of them than I paid into. Don

I don't agree with "always", but with a staggered AWD setup on tires that are going to last past 40k miles (2-3 years for me) I definitely bit on a certificate/hazard coverage when I got my new tires last month [from Discount Tire].

Prior to my recent rear sidewall issue and one rear plug needed months before that, I've generally never needed anything more than a plug every now and then. Most of those were 2 wheel driven cars with same size tires all around, so never a situation like with the Stinger where replacement can be complicated 30,000 miles into a set of tires with tread left on them.

Lol, if only. I have not passed c. 15K miles on a set of tires since I got the Stinger.:D

I'm riding Sport A/S tires, not true summer/sticky tires. The OE all season rears still had another 5-10k tread on them [fronts even more] so would have gotten 30k probably, and by all accounts the Continentals I have will go well over 40k miles (they're rated for 60k, but owners are getting 40k+).
