Screw in tire

With all the kids spending the night at friends last night, the wife and I were going to go to breakfast and enjoy a nice relaxing drive in the still “new Stinger”. But then I found this last evening. Tire has 3600 miles on it. Oh well…

Might try Discount Tire, they repair tires for free even if you didn't buy it from them.

They might say it's repairable but it would lose any speed rating. Don

Yep, kinda looks outside the repairable zone. Any tire store is going to say that's nonrepairable. Guess I'll be shopping for a new tire. *face palm*

As a temp repair you could put some silastic in the hole and on the screw thread, then put the screw back in.

This would buy you time to do some price research.

I had the same thing happened to me not long ago and in the same area and did a thread repair but that only lasted 2 months.

Did the silastic trick and got another 2 months out of it until the rubber I wanted was back in stock.

That's right at the flex point. No shop is going to repair that, nor should they.

Correct but a temp repair that holds for a while beats driving around on a cheese cutter space saver.

While I wouldn't normally do this since it is in the sidewalk. I plugged it this afternoon. Maybe it will buy some time til I can get a tire ordered next week. I slathered the plug with cement real well before putting it in and let it set up before adding air.
So far no leaks. It is holding...

Looks like Tire Discounters can order the rear OEM Michelin Primacy. $270+install.

Just keep your speed down as much as possible and avoid cornering hard etc.

Normal commuting style only and you should be fine.
