My wife has been driving a minivan for nearly 20 years and wanted something less practical. She set her heart on a stinger but coloring is important to her (no black interior and she doesn't like the ascot green). So in Dec, we placed an order for a white GT-1 with red interior. We waited patiently for some confirmation that the order would be fulfilled and when our dealership had no indications that it was even accepted at the end of March we gave up hope. We actually bought a Camry (and this felt like the worst consolation prize since those steak knives in Glengarry Glenn Ross). But before the Camry was delivered we got a call that the Stinger was built and headed to NC! Expected delivery is May 15 - May 25 so for the last two weeks I've been like a kid at Christmas. I don't think there's a stinger video on youtube I haven't seen.

Technically, this will be my wife's car yes. But while she'll drive it to work anytime we go out together I'll drive. Also, my kids take my car all the time so I'll use that as an excuse to drive the Stinger. (I really don't want the teenagers to be in this.)

So this is a bit early I guess, but I've been reading the site and thought I'd go ahead and create an account. I'll post photos once I have them. Dealer is tinting the windows and adding ceramic coating. I'll probably leave it stock from a performance perspective but I think I'll replace the badges with something that matches the black chrome accents and I think it needs a lip spoiler. After that I think I'll be done.

Waiting impatiently . . .

You are really right! After four years, I can still alarm myself when I put my foot down hard. Welcome to the forum.

The new KIA badge will look better on that White Pearl in gloss (piano) black, for sure. That probably goes for the "Stinger" script as well.

The stinger is replacing our second Honda Odyssey as a daily driver and my purple wrangler as the car the kids want to drive the most.

Hi BrianOdle,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Stinger!

The Stinger is going to be an absolute blast, especially when switching from a minivan.

It looks like you might be interested in ordering some aftermarket parts for your wife's new car.

We have one of the largest aftermarket and OEM Kia Stinger parts collections in the world on our website.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like a discount on your order!

Enjoy the new ride,

Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store

Congrats! Were you able to get out of the Camry purchase? Sounds like you have 2 cars coming...

I'll share this...Tuesday night I had my 14, soon to be 15 year old daughter riding with me in the (still new to me) Stinger headed home. As we made a turn, rounded a curve and then hit a straight away, I gave a little over half throttle just before coming out of the curve. The stinger down shifted and RPMs rose confidently. As the car accelerated like a rocket ship, the contents of my stomach (just eaten ice cream) shifted rearwards towards my spine as my daughter and I both were shifted backwards into the contours of the seat. As I eased off the throttle, and things settled back down, I was thinking it, but my daughter said it, "Ohhh, I just LOVE this car!".

We lost a deposit on the Camry, which is disappointing. But there's a rebate from Kia that will offset it. My dealership is Hendrick Kia of Cary and so far they have been pretty great. Haven't had the conversation with the sales manager yet but our sales experience has been pretty great so far.

Welcome and congrats on finally getting your Stinger.

Congrats and welcome
For me it was love and purchase at first sight. Hope you enjoy!!

REALLY IMPORTANT , REBADGE BEFORE YOU DO THE CERAMIC

Ok, so it's finally in NC and we were able to see it on Saturday. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow after tinting and ceramic coating. I won't get to rebadge it before that, so I guess I'll wait on that. I've read about wrapping the badges and I think I could do that myself so I'll do some research. I just want them to all be the same finish (though I think black would be best to match the other accents).

I've been looking at spoilers on-line and I think I might like the scorpion style more than the lip. Not sure what we'll do there. Still can't wait to drive the thing!
