Car is around 10.7k mileage and needs an alignment according to my friend. Car is drifting to the right as I am driving at any speed and on any road. If I give a bit of hard throttle it pulls strongly to the right. Is it worth entertaining the idea that this could be covered under warranty or the cost split? I know an alignment for my WRX cost around $100 but I do not know how much it will be for a Stinger.

What have you all paid for an alignment? I have the 19'inch staggered RWD setup. I am so not in the mood to spend 3+ hours at the dealership trying to work on my alignment lol.

Thanks all!!

lifetime alignment with firestone. gonna go in once I do more subframe mods and get it done for free lol. its like $80 for one time

Thank you!

Where can I find the proper alignment spec/sheet for my vehicle? I'm seeing different information on how my setup should be with caster/camber/toe even on similar setups.

more details please lmfao!

also... are you RWD or AWD? how much was the alignment and how long did it take for them to perform it?

so I want to say I was maybe going somewhat near 100 mph. didn't notice a dip and my car just drove (flew) over that dip lol. everything seemed fine. went to go get an $80 alignment at I forgot where but a known tire shop. took about an hour and I believe my caster was way off which indicated that I had some bent ass struts! also my car is rwd

Here's a clip from the FSM. The part that's behind the stupid language drop down is for 19" wheels and is -1.2 +/- 0.5

Appreciate it! :D

I got an appointment scheduled this Friday at a local dealership. They quoted me $130 for a four-wheel alignment. Hopefully they do it correctly and the spec report sheet shows the right stuff. I want to voice my concern that a new vehicle with less than 10.8k miles on the odometer needs an alignment so soon. I might ask to have them cover/split half the cost or cover it entirely.

If anyone else has any more pointers or tips please let me know. I am going in this Friday early afternoon and want to be prepared haha!

I do not think it is uncommon for a new car to need an alignment right away, as IMHO the workers in the factory do not take the time to get it right….close is good enough. I’ve had to get alignments on several new cara over the years. Recently, my 2017 Subaru WRX STi was aligned with less than 20,000 km’s (toe was out) and my 2022 Stinger GT Elite was just done at approximately 300 km’s (front and rear toe was out).

Ive had 3 alignments in to two months each time it lasts about two days before it madly pulls to the left ( opposite to you mob up there) , apparently lowering my car has disagreed with it. Only fix Kia says is to bring it back to stock. The rear springs sit to lower and are interfering with a some electronic compontentry.

I wonder if the electric power steering may need a “re-learn” of the centre position.

Perfect time to get lowww.. had my ark gtf springs installed last month and alignment a few weeks after. Cost about $140 for the alignment (more than I expected) but it was worth it. Car drove like shit during those 2 weeks after springs/before alignment.

lmfao my car is at stock height and I plan to keep it that way for the time being :p

Hopefully when I bring it in for alignment tomorrow they can fix it within a reasonable time-frame and that will be the end of it! :p

Service Update:

Had the alignment performed at the dealership. Service advisor said most likely my car was misaligned from the factory. Price was reduced from $130 to $90 (I was 4 months out of warranty but car was sitting at less than 11k miles) and was told I should call Kia and ask for reimbursement. Took them over three hours to get it done. It was funny because they brought my car out after 2 hours then immediately brought it back. I asked what's going on and they said it's still pulling to the right. I had an appointment set for 3:30pm. I showed up before 3pm just to be on the safe side. Didn't get car back until after 6pm. Was told it would take an hour to hour and a half. My goodness Kia. I should have found an independent shop that's for professionals. Oh well.

Side Note:

Where can I have the alignment spec sheets for OEM wheel setup? I am wondering if I can find a trusted alignment shop and show them the specs for my current setup and they can match it. What about aftermarket if I wanna go with smaller wheels (18 all around?) for weight reduction? Thinking about lowering my ride on coilovers if I'm using smaller wheels. I want to make sure in the future, whether I stick with my stock wheels or go with aftermarket, I know what specs to have presented to my future shop to get the job done properly.

Bonus Paranoia:

Even after having brand new tires mounted and balanced on my car, PSI adjusted, and an alignment performed, my car is still pulling very slightly to the right. I am not sure if it's in my own head or not but I really do still feel like the car is moving very slightly and slowly to the right whenever I am driving in a straight line. I also think, although I could be wrong and it's pure imagination, that there is a very slight resistance turning the steering wheel to the left (or it's easier to pull it to the right). Have I gone mad?

after doing all the same things on my car , i had massive alignment issues from new , the dealer made it worse so i just did it myself,
im a tech for porsche . anyway the stinger is very sensitive to alignment changes and i dont like the oem specs for it . i tried a few different set ups before i was happy , its also very sensitive to tire balance as well .

You already have the sheet for the OEM wheels that's what I posted before. It gives you the specs for factory 18 and 19s. The only difference though is you run slightly more negative camber for 18s.

switch the two front tires with each other (ie left front to right front and vice versa) and go for a spin. Sounds like you might have a radial pull.

My apologies! I know you posted the sheet previously and I did reply to your post after reading it. I was just unsure if there could be exceptions or other specs out there. But thank you! I do genuinely appreciate your time and help! :lipsaresealed::thumbup::notworthy:

i‘ve had it happen with new tires many moons ago. It’s not a defect per se and usually swapping the tires on one axle resolves it. Worth a shot, an hour of your time and a bit of wrenching is free.

What you might be feeling is the crown in the road, which can cause a car to drift right when in the right hand lane. Try driving in the left lane to see if the car drifts left. If it does then your car is sensitive to road crown. This has been the case for me with other cars.
