I just heard a rumor that the 2019 Stinger in the U.S. will have a limited edition with, instead of yellow, deep chroma blue. My source is generally accurate. Time will tell is he/she got it right this time around...

That being said, there has been no firm decision on whether or not deep chroma blue will be available in the U.S as a standard color. So don't lose hope. I'm just reiterating what's been being discussed behind the scenes... That being said, it sounds to me like deep chroma blue will be more than just an option available as a style/theme here at KiaStinger.com (in the U.S.).

phew, moving on. :p

I'm not a fan of blue cars, so thank god for that.

same, and for god sakes Kia thought it would be a great idea to ship out an entire mass fleet of GT's in all blue for the US. Finally catching up with some other colors, but the ones sitting on the lot the longest (with the dropping prices) are unfortunately blue.

Good news (well, rumor) for those who love deep chroma blue. For me this news just solidifies that I need to get myself a RWD GT2 limited sunset yellow this year before they're gone. Otherwise sit and wait for a red gt1 to pop up nearby. Keep those rumors coming though, they're very handy!

I seen the Korean spec car in person in the deep blue and I thought it was the worst looking color of all the stinger colors available. I only seen it indoors but it was almost black looking.

The photo in my profile pic is of one in the dealer showroom, it looks a bit purplish out in the sun. I like that the color looks different depending on the light.

Just to let you in on another rumor... One of the reasons Deep Chroma Blue didn't make it to the U.S. is/was because the quality of the paint wasn't up to par with other colors... Now this does not come from a reliable source - but it's been said. So take it with a grain or seventeen of salt...

That doesn't make sense. Isn't it the same color as the Horizon Blue Kia has for the Optimas?

No I think it is a new color. And I've seen people complaining that there the color is slightly different from a panel to another, especially around the tailgate area where the material is different (plastic vs. steel). So that theory doesnt surprize me.

Yikes.

Wonder why Kia would accept that in ANY market.

I would think fiberglass , paint will look slightly different on different sub straights , plastic bumpers vs sheet metal vs fiberglass , texture is the key I believe , not the actual color .

The tailgate spoiler material is fiberglass? I thought it was plastic, good to know! I heard in a review that they use a slightly different paint for each texture because the properties (?) are not the same.

See in this review (in korean) from 2:34 to 2:59, the guy says that the color does not exactly match and that other journalists have made similar remarks.
However they may have improved the paint job after early production models.

Aussie's have the color what do they think. Korean spec @ local showroom. I taught it was a aweome color and the all the black chrome accent's I taught went very nice together.

Another pretty solid "rumor" that I received directly from a very high level Kia Exec is that the market has spoken and 360* camera and heated rear seats will at some point either become an option or be available only on special limited trims. These missing features are the only reason I am not in a GT2 now. We have a super tight space in a parking garage, and also we have come to love the heated rear seats - do not want to miss out on either. Our guests always look for the heated seates as well, and that is something hard to take away after 5 years of enjoyment. Color selection is down to Micro Blue(Curious how this compares to the previously available Corsa Blue from the Optima previous gen SX), Deep Chroma Blue(if avail) or Ceramic Silver. Keep enjoying your rides ladies and gentlemen, hope to be there with you soon!

My guess is (it can be wrong because this is based on my experience of Kia marketing strategy in Korea and not in the Us) :
They will wait until the release of the G70 and if the Stinger sales drop they will add a new trim with these options.
