Roofrack???

anybody here try using a roof cargo box yet? I want to get one but I feel like the cargo box would be have to moved more forward than usual in order for the trunk to open fully

I have not, however the trunk would have to be programmed to stop halfway up. If anybody in ATL has a roof box, happy to try.

The Thule I have is designed for longer SUVs, but they make "squarer" ones as well.

I have never used these kind of racks before. Do they touch the paint? If I just left them on would they leave marks on the paint over time?

there should be a rubber pad that goes in between the cusp and the body
i would recommend taking it off if youre not going to use it just to decrease chance of paint damage and wind noise

@Callum Nice! How does the wind noise sound? I know there is rubber on the inside but do you worry about the paint under the inserts? And the rubber seal around the car door is fine right?

All is fine. The rack doesn’t live on the car. I put packing tape over the areas where the rubber feet sit.

The trim is fine. I can take more pictures tomorrow!

Is the rack able to accommodate a roof box? And do you maybe know of the weight limit on those? I'm trying to figure out if I would be able to fit a box with 4 snowboards + extra gear on it.

No roof box in Stinger Accessories is Australia however they do offer these options with roof racks.

Thank you for the tips!
Looks like the rack can take 90kg which is more than enough for a reasonable box.
I wonder if I can find them somewhere in Europe. And I wonder if they can be mounted on the version with the glass roof as well.

I believe the roof racks offered by Kia Australia are suitable for mounting to versions with the glass roof.
I also found this image of a roof pod

I believe the Rhino Rack bar system is rated for 165 pounds. Should be able to accommodate various types of boxes.

I ordered a Yakima system for mine. Once I get all the pieces I'll see if the moonroof works. I was really surprised with their detailed diagrams and photos of the fit.
