Hey folks, I’ve got a 2022 Kia Stinger GT2 and it’s been overheating like crazy. Started with a bad thermostat and a coolant pipe leak, which got replaced. Fast forward to today and my car has been in the shop for a month resulting in two more pipes having to be swapped, and each time the thermostat would need to be replaced again. Now I’m on my fourth thermostat in just a few months, and the car keeps ending up back at the shop. My service advisor said Kia might have to lemon the car if this last thermostat fails. Anyone ever dealt with this? Is there a fix I’m missing, or should I just go ahead and try to lemon it? My car is also completely stock so I’m confused as to why this keeps happening. I’d rather not lemon it since there are no other issues with the car but it seems like a 50/50 chance at this point.

That is really weird. There is no way that they have installed that many bad thermostats. Get a second opinion?

Look for a faulty water pump. Seal leaking.

Drops the water pressure. Overheats.

Gees I'm good.

I suspect that only your first, or possibly none of your thermostats have been faulty.

Where is the coolant leak?

Is the coolant leak persistent, or did they fix the coolant leak the first time?

Whatever it is, it definitely sounds like a shitty situation. But it's also not common whatsoever.
