Anyone have tips for removing these without damaging them? I've poked around with a trim tool and they're not budging, don't want to risk damaging them. Of course, the cold temps we had might play a role in how stiff the plastic is - should be getting some warmer temps soon..

take it to a body shop , they'll know the safest way to remove without damage . What are you doing to the roof ?? Wrapping ??

Going to try dip first, but essentially yes - from sunroof back to hatch window, as several have had wrapped already. Yes, will be pulling the shark fin, it doesn't look that hard.

Not really wanting to take it anywhere, just looking for experience from the hive. Probably won't need to remove them to spray it, but want to see how they go in and out in case that can make things look a little better - like sliding some masking down the outer edge..

I got a quote from a body shop to paint my roof. They warned me that those peices are easy to break and could be damaged during disassembly.

If you stick with trying to remove it do so very carefully.

If you mean the skinny ones behind the sunroof, then those slide back and comes out. I haven't figured out the 2 big ones next to sunroof yet.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The long skinny ones are easy. You can use a screwdriver or a plastic tool if you want. Open the hatch, stick something under them in the back, pry up. Pop right off.

Here's a short writeup i did when wrapping my roof that explains how to pop them off and shows a pic. Basically oddball is right, just pry straight up from the back end, it will pop off easily.

Just tried this, and he's right, you can just pop them off. I used a screw driver from the back to get the first part free, then used my hand and wiggled out the other parts. Pulled up and it came right out. Putting it back is just as easy.

Edit: Also, my stinger (white) has a black rubber around the shark fin, so using some knifeless tape on there when you're wrapping should do the trick. It should just blend together.
