Hi there @basysmith , Sorry to hear the issue with your paintwork, after the removal of your rear Kia badge, may i ask where in Melbourne you live, i live in the Northern Suburbs.Yeah I stuffed it up pretty bad with the heat gun. I'm not sure what I was doing.. the missus went to bed and I thought I'll get it done before tomorrow. So half asleep, I was waving the stupid heat gun over the badge thinking about something else.. and then.. BAM! CRINKLE! The paint started to warp under the heat. I'm usually good with things like this.. but I well and truly f&*%ed this job up. Not the end of the world though.. but I'm going to cop it in the morning when the missus walks into the garage and has a look.
Would you be interested to attend a Stinger Cars and Coffee meet if we could manage to let other Victorian Stinger owners know , and ask if they would attend, if there is enough interest , maybe then we could then decide on a place to meet that we all are happy with, then agree on a date, what do you think ? Just a thought.Yes there's holes. I got them filled and painted. Missus wants the badges back on but I like it without for something different. So we'll see how long it lasts...
..............shaved Beav ! looks great !
i have just a very slight discoloration around the rear kia badge. Need the right light to even see it. No idea why that is there. Anyone else have this? how did you clear it up? Saw someone mention DA polisher in this thread, maybe that would fix it up before i put the stinger script on.
Gotcha. So just put the script on and deal with it. Honestly, it will be very hard to see with the script there i think. The paint that was under the badge was shielded from sunlight.
You can't "polish it" because the paint itself, under the clearcoat, has changed color.
