I recall seeing somewhere that the secondary fob is NOT needed to start a US KIA Stinger GT2 remotely, something like push lock and open hatch on the main smart key fob. I tried but "no go". the remote start feature was factory installed. First of all, is this true and second if yes, how to fix?

If you got the instruction manual with the remote start, there should be a page in there on how to pair your original remote to the remote starter.

I got the factory remote start and it worked from the day I picked up the car without having to pair it. LOCK.. HATCH OPEN

But do you need to have something installed in the car for it to work or every stock US GT2 have already this function available?
You have to have the remote start option to begin with I would assume. I specifically requested it for my gt1 when I had the dealer source mine.

I'm not sure if mine is just different from others, but I have to tap the lock button and then double tap the hatch or horn button to remote start. I hope this helps...

Can't you use the UVO app to remote start the car from anywhere in the world regardless of whether you have the remote start option install or not? I could be wrong on this...

If you have the OEM remote start pressing lock then just one press of the hatch/horn will start the car.

Mine makes me press lock twice then the hatch. Sounds like it might be different for different people for some reason.

The car has to be locked for this to work, that's why you have to press lock twice. If car is already locked, one press of the lock then the hatch will work.

anyone know the cheapest place to buy the OEM remote start. Saw one at Kia, but there has to be a cheaper place.

You are indeed wrong - US cars do not have this feature.

(much to our annoyance!!)
