Hey!
So I am looking to daily map3, possibly map4 on the jb4. I am within 5 minutes of E85 and 100 octane race fuel. I am running full bolt ons, but still have my primary cats. I currently daily Map2 on an E85 mix (probably E20-E25 because I just use an E85 calculator and haven’t gotten an analyzer yet). My question is what is a safe octane rating or E85 mix to daily Map3 or Map4? I would prefer 100 octane mixes since I don’t have to worry about putting too much 100 in the mix with 91 compared to worrying about putting too much E85 in my mix. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks

Start with what you use for map 2 which is "technically" capable of minimum 93. After a couple of runs W/LOGS, you should be able to get a baseline of where you need to be for moving to map3 and beyond. Any major timing movement on 93 will give you a starting point regarding octane for the higher maps.

The logs will help answer your question.

Thanks for your response. I’ll go ahead and take some logs and check them out.

No problem.

You can post the logs here or directly on the N54 site for Terry to check out. There are several "seasoned" folks on here that are pretty good with the logs and they can further guide you with the next move.

interested in the answer to this question...never saw anything like that. you sure you have a spark plug for cylinder 2? Ha ha.

Update: I tried logging a light drive on map0 (jb4 off) and the same thing immediately happened again but even crazier. The car feels like it’s driving totally fine. This log looks so weird it’s making me think the jb4 is reading something wrong. Looking forward to a clear answer!D0C8D0DF-8F29-4D17-85A7-B1878E9102AC.webp

Just throwing around some ideas.......

Have you tried resetting things by disconnecting the battery for about 10mins and reconnecting with jb4 on map 0?

checked your OBD2 connection?

what version of the firmware are you running on the jb4?

Is the jb4 used?
