Regular Unleaded in Twin Turbos

Fun fact in Canada:
The 2018 Kia Stinger Owners Manual says to use 87 or greater
The 2019 Kia Stinger Owners Manual says to use 91 or greater

So even KIA doesn't really know the answer lol.

If your engine ever did get hurt by using 87 and you have a 2018 Stinger you can for sure fight them on it in Canada .

But again, totally up to you what type of fuel you put in the car.

You'd have to present your copy of the owner's manual to show that it doesn't have a sticker over that passage saying 91 octane minimum (mine has the sticker). :P

As I recall someone in here posted the 2020 manual that states "the highest octane available" as the recommendation.

So canada 87 is 91 RON? I know that canada gas is inferior to some US gas.
I'm not sure how the states does it. But for canada:
87 pump (I.e what you see when you drive up to the gas station) = 91 RON

and

Back in the mid 2000s, I read a very thorough article in Road &Track (or maybe Car & Driver or Automobile) that tested numerous cars recommending or requiring premium for overall gas mileage. The main finding was that the car ran poorly enough that you didn't save any money using regular unleaded. Obviously technology has improved (or has it?) and prices rise and fall but I generally have the best luck following manufacturer specs (plus it protects the warranty). Also, I wouldn't have bought a 4,000 lb twin turbo if I was looking to save money on gas.

I couldn't find the original article I was looking for but the Jalopnik article linked below comes to essentially the same conclusion.

Why Putting Regular Gas Into A Car That Needs Premium Won't Save You Any Money

That's crazy. My dealer was going on and on that it is fine with regular and that's what they use in all the demo stingers. Personally I lean towards premium but will also put regular in depending on what I'm using the car for.

I guess middle ground would be to put midgrade (89 pump (93 ron I guess) in canada)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
