Is there any harm in running regular unleaded from time to time (as opposed to premium)? Most of my weekly commutes involve lots of traffic where I couln't care less about performance.

Which engine do you have?

And there may not be any harm, but you'll get worse fuel mileage and the engine won't run as well. I would imagine doing this over a long period would not be great for the engine. But technically it isn't required to use premium from what I've seen.

It's worth the few extra $ to me personally.

I guess my other thought on this would be that you dropped some serious coin on this car, why go cheap on the gas now?

Have you consulted the mystical scripts provided by the Kia Gods?

^^^ Premium gas isn't required. But I won't run regular in my car. Those moments when I do want to pass fast or hit the kickdown switch from a stop light are pure delight. Less power results from using regular octane. I bought the 3.3L to have POWER. So it makes no sense to waste what I paid for this car by saving a few bucks at the pump.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Do what you want to do, the car will run just fine...

Have a Merry Christmas :)

Now wait a second. I never said I couldn't care less about performance. I said I couldn't care less about performance in bumper to bumper traffic. ;)

Now wait a second.

Of course you did...you asked the question, you got answers...What is it you wanted to hear????

Everybody knows, that when you put 83 octane gas into the Stinger, the minute you hit the Start button, the car will implode. Everybody knows that. No question about THAT.
So be very, very careful what you are going to feed to your baby. ANYTHING less than the highest octane gas is a big NO NO, even in stop-and-go traffic. in fact, for that kind of driving, I would leave the baby in the garage and take the bike or walk. That's what I would do. Absolutely.
