I have the ark catback, which is why the pipes add so much noise. When paired with the stock exhaust they apparently don't sound bad but combined with the Ark they're really raspy and make the exhaust sound cheap. I tried to live with it, since I probably will only have the car until December, but I can't, it's just too much to my ears.

Sell the exhaust and keep the midpipes. They are a better performance upgrade and cost half as much.

They sound good with the stock exhaust.

How does the bottom clip sound compared to your ssr with ark? Mine is ssr ark with different mufflers. I dont hear the rasp unless I'm missing it.

Sorry to hear about your issues with the AP product.

Installation of the Injen air intakes I purchased was quite straightforward and secure, though it did take some enthusiastic wriggling to remove existing hoses. No hose cuts involved so it's fully reversible, as they come with two short lengths of rubber hose to tie the driver side pipe to the OEM fittings (you do reuse some of the small OEM hose clamps for these).

They fit well and have a professional high performance appearance to them - I like the looks of the big open filters. An alternative to consider if you are in the market for an alternative.

Good to hear your Injen comments. Mine should be in my hands in a few days. One question though, do you have any/see any warranty concerns over this install? Cheers

We have all been fooled with the dp and mid pipe hp claims. End of the old closed 1/4 mile thread M. locke shares his before and after dyno on his dp. 3 hp gain when tuned, 30 or so hp on stock boost. I added SSR and ran 3.89 on the way to the shop and a blistering 3.89 when i left the shop. Catback adds more power than a dp and mp combined lol.
If you are not adding a tune go for a midpipe but everyone is tuning.
To be fair the vendors are not lying. They do say those gains are on a stock car. We just assume you get the same gains on higher boost and you don't
My SSR and 3 inch cold side pipe are my only mods that had no measured gains. It does sound and feel faster but it isn't.

I think you might be right, but I'd love to see a before/after dyno of a simple muffler delete on a tuned car

Not that im aware of but the dp has been independently tested.
I'm sure its accurate but they do boldly state its on a stock car at least in their forum post. Its also max hp not peak hp.
But if you have a tune it just sounds and feels faster. I would have been convinced my SSR was faster if i didn't measure.
