Regional Warning & Road Signs

This sign is situated on the highway approx. 270kms south of Sydney by the town Yass, it’s a large stop for petrol & fast food etc. & I don’t think Maccas really stood back & took a good look at this sign.....lol.

I passed one driving from Chiang Mai Thailand the other day that was a warning for elephants on the road. Not some backwater goat track either it’s the National Highway from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, multi lane duel carriage way. Last thing I’d want to do is slam into an elephant at 120kph.

I also saw this rather disturbing very graphic anti drink driving sign outside of the police station in my wife’s village. Basically it says drink + drive = dead loosely translated. I was in two minds if I should post due to the graphic nature. But the message is quite clear.

I’ll leave it as a thumbnail you can look if you want but be warned. To quote a famous reality tv show “Viewer Discretion Is Advised”

A does of reality might work, except here we got the left wing, hairy armpit , bleeding heart brigade. Pretty gruesome road kill but probably effective?

That’s astonishing. And to think people were complaining about Lara Bingle in a bikini saying “Where the bloody hell are you? They’d go nuts over this.

Agree with both. I’m all for it being done like that in Australia because we need to do something to get the message across and actually have an impact but there is no way the bleeding heart snowflake brigade would ever allow it. If you remember they kicked up a stink over the graphic nature of cigarette packets when the government first tried to bring them in. I think they’ve had some effect but you’ll never stop everyone, same with ads for the road toll

Thanks I enlarged the pic before I read that bit, cause I thought it was about bloody elephants...lol

With the 2 cheats from the storm & their mate from the roosters no longer playing rep footy I’d say the blues would be favourites for next years origin as well. Especially when Inglis gets done drink driving again after going out to celebrate the QLD captaincy once the teams are announced.:D:p

Just checked-out this thread. I know we speak the 'same language', but dude, you might as well be speaking Latin! :) I have absolutely no idea what you said, but whatever it is it sounds great! Going to give you a big thumbs-up!:p

We went a little bit off topic there for a while. That post was about rugby league, specifically a yearly competition between the States of New South Wales and Queensland known as State of Origin. If you google it you will understand, but it was basically a couple of Aussie guys from rival States having some good natured ribbing about football

Exactly. At the moment Coast GT and I get on just fine. But come March next year he will inexplicably morph into a bastard Blue and I will devolve into an idiot Queenslander. A couple of months after that we’ll be sweet again.

Yeah saw it 4 days x 12 + some cause ways. Lucky the Rav 4 hirer car handled it. Back in big smoke now. Parked the Stinger outside the cop shop under CCTV cameras for a few days. Cops told me Mudgee's got the lowest country town crime rate in the state.

Ok in another thread I posted I got beached on a cattle grid in the Stinger much to the amusement of other stingees . When I saw the sign "Grid" here I assume it's a reminder. Can't remember what forum heading the story is under.
