Has anyone swapped the seat belts in their Stinger with a color other than black? I'll be buying a Stinger in August or September and think the simple pop of color might be a cool way to bring some of the exterior color into the black interior.

You'd be the first on this forum.

OH BOY......... oh boy........ oh boy......

That. Would be awesome.

That would compliment my red seats so well. Must have. Posting here to watch this thread if more information is found.

Make sure you update us thethunderbird!

I've already looked into this. There are some companies online that will do it. You send them the clasp or whatever it's called, they hook the belt on and send it back to you. As far as DIY, not sure how simple or difficult it be to do. In terms of colour options and ordering the actual belt, that's easy - plentiful of sellers.

Has anyone down this? Please post pics

What type of auto shop would I be contacting? Is that more of a upholstery shop? Or audio/visual?

I purchased from safetyrestore.com. Within the next two weeks I will do the replacement and will attempt to take a video for upload.

Finally got around to installing the red seat belts from safetyrestore.com. Happy with the look and feel.

Remove from anchor seat belt. References Kia Sportage, but applies to Stinger. Since I didn’t have the tool referenced here I used two small thin metal stakes to remove. Refer to only Step #2

Sorry, but I didn't end up making a video as I needed two hands to do the removal/install and didn't have anyone else available to record. With that being said, I provided the instructions (in the links) I followed and I'm certainly not the most mechanically inclined, therefore if I can do it, anyone can do it. If you have any questions in regards to the instructions, happy to assist. :)

What are those stakes you used instead of the panel removal tool? Do the panels come off and go back on without any replacement clips, adhesives or whatever?

They are for removal of seat belt from anchor. Last link has pictures showing the need to remove seat belt from anchor.

As for panel removal I have tools for that, however I didn’t need them. Simply used my hands. Fortunately didn’t break any clips therefore nothing to replace.

I mean - what are those stakes? Where did you get them from? Something you just had laying around?

Gotcha

They were from my kids jumpy house. You can use anything of about the same diameter 3mm and length of 56mm.

I have wanted Dark Blue seat belts in my Stinger GT ever since I bought it, and wish it was a feature from the factory, including Dark Blue stitching in the Nappa Leather seats, which I inquired about when I purchased the car, and I always wished the GT logo on the headrest was at least embroided, and maybe even had stinger instead of GT.

my dealer was asking 667 each for front and 334 each for rear plus $500 to install, so about $2500 CAD for 4, that's crazy

Is that only to replace seat belts? If yes, that’s absurd and hopefully you called them on it. I’m not mechanically inclined and while it did take me some time to replace the front given it was my first time doing it, it’s certainly something most folks can do themselves by following the instructions I provided earlier in this thread.
