Hi all,

I bought a 2018 GT1 about 8 months ago. The only mod I have installed is a Borla Cat-Back exhaust about 6 months ago. Since then I have had a check engine light come on twice. The first time being 2 months ago. The car had a rough idle and was not performing well at all and it felt like I was driving in eco when in sport mode. I took it to the dealer and they got a code P0106 - Manifold Absolute Pressure. They reset the adaptive values and the check engine light went away. The car was running well until this Friday where the same exact thing happened and now I have a check engine light again. The dealer believes it is caused by the after-market exhaust. Does anyone have any experience with this? Would a cat-back exhaust cause this?

not caused by the exhaust. they usually go in limp on some engine lights which reverts the car to "comfort" mode and negates boost. a restart fixes the boost issue assuming the code clears. check all the hoses under the hood from intake to turbo to intercooler (that area). no catch can?

Definitely not the exhaust. Might need a real mechanic to take a look at it. Like said, most likely a hose or leak somewhere in the intake track. Possibly the MAP sensor is faulty, but seems unlikely. Heck, make sure the MAP connector - on both of the MAP sensors - is secure. A catch can connection that's leaking could do the same thing. You'd need to datalog and/or use a real scan tool to get better info on what's going on.

Haha "that exhaust caused your intake issue" thats exactly like a mom saying "my computer is running slow because of your damn video games"

Thanks for the replies. No catch can and checked the hoses but didn't see anything wrong. Very frustrating that they lazily tried to blame it on the exhaust just because its aftermarket. Not to mention the two dealers near me are booked until end of April so I have to go to a dealer an hour away. Going to take it to the dealer one more time and see what they come up with. If theres no solution then will just take it to a private mechanic...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I hate to be that person who opens up the old thread but I will be today...

Did you find the issue? I got a P0106 yesterday and it's been a recurring issue for me since January 2020. Multiple trips to the dealership haven't helped. I've got a 2018 GT2, 18k miles, and no mods.

Did you ever figure this out? I am getting something similar.
