Hello all, I recently purchased a 2020 Stinger GT1 here in Vegas, about a month ago. Joined the subreddit a few weeks back and found this forum while looking into mods and specifically spark plugs. Previous owner already did aftermarket intakes and a muffler delete, so I'm planning on some Denso plugs, a JB4, and an oil catch. Any other recommendations, please let me know.
If anyone else is in the Vegas area, hit me up. Dunno if there are car meets or anything here and I've only seen a couple other Stingers on the road since.

Thanks!

I'm loving the car so far. Well unfortunately my wife isn't alright with me having 3 cars and I'm not willing to part with my heavily heavily modified 06 Subaru STi, so the 98 M3 is going up for sale. I actually sort of rage bought the Stinger because I've been having a bunch of issue with the M3 and couldn't take it anymore in the desert summer heat. It's burning coolant. I'm sad to part with her, but it is what it is.

Will do! Thanks again!

Congrats and welcome

Thanks!
Definitely taking a look at those. Any recommendation here on brand? I've seen Eibach and Whiteline ones after some casual searching.

Personally chose Eibach especially since Kia is aware of the manufacturer and installs them

Oh that might be great then. As in from the dealer? Because I bought a 7 year warranty on the car and wanna make sure I'm careful of that as I've never had one before.
I know things like a JB4 need to be pulled before taking it in for any service or claim. I think anything installed by them is fine though.

How bad was the labor charge? Hours wise for it?
One hour for the rear bar, half an hour for the front bar, at c. like $125/hour.

Welcome to the hive! I second the sway bar recco, great upgrade

Oh that's way better than I expected. Assumed a couple hours each at least. I'm surprised this would need to be installed via the dealer to protect a warranty, or was it just a precaution or ease thing to have them do it for you?

Thanks! It seems like a good community. I've thought I've spotted a few others in Vegas and tried to wave or something, but haven't seen any response so far.

I actually pulled the trigger on the plugs and JB4 yesterday after this initial post, and will probably grab the sway bars in the very near future.

I figured I'd ask the dealer first. They were completely willing to do it.

I didn’t have my sway bars installed by the dealer, been there a few times so far for service without issues. Not looking forward to having the plugs installed there. Quoted me $400 for labor. Looking elsewhere though

Now see that I definitely plan to do myself. I have everything I need for that, and from what I've read it takes like an hour or so to do. I've changed enough plugs in my life to feel comfortable on that front.

The wave is implied. ;)

On average I see one or more Stingers on my commute. You'll likely notice the same. There's three local Kia dealers selling Stingers, two of them have been keeping decent stock of Stingers over the years, so there seems to be lots of them on the road. The year before the pandemic one of the dealerships even hosted a Stinger meetup. I reached out asking about the next one and they've indicated there's none planned. Makes sense, the model is on its last legs (2023 likely the last) until it becomes an EV nameplate a few years from now.

Oh are you in Vegas as well?
That's too bad. We should do one of our own then. When I lived in Omaha years back a bunch of Subaru owners would get together sometimes.

Yeah unfortunately it was born a bit too late with an ICE to really make its mark, but too early as an EV performance sedan breakout. At least it isn't in the same position as the MX-5 and Supra which are going to get like two years of production and disappear until they can become EVs, though not much better.

from what I've read it takes like an hour or so to do
That rear bar is the bitchy one: the bracket on the driver's side has the fuel pipe cramping your working room. Some forum members who have done their own install have fought the job for several hours (but saved the labor cost). The other thing is that some installers charge a flat rate for the install description that includes dropping the rear end to make room to reach that left bracket: totally unnecessary, but that route winds up taking three or so hours with the attendant labor charge (c. $400+). The front bar is simple, you remove the under panel and everything is right there (with the car in the air, of course).
