Hello all,

Just took delivery of my 2019 GT2 RWD last week. I have been working my way thru the manual, and I also worked my way through all 80 pages of the "Surprises and Discoveries" thread...

One thing I have not been able to find an answer to in the manual, or on the forums so far is the following. . .

A number of reviews I have read/ watched, as well as the Kia website itself, states that rear heated seats are standard on the 2019 GT2 RWD. . . but I cant find any info on how to actually activate them.

As a matter of fact, pretty much zero info other than the fact that they are supposed to exist.

Anyone with any info on this?

Thank you in advance,

Probably a silly question but... are you sure yours is a 2019?
I ask because 2018 GT2's did NOT come with heated outboard seats. Does your Stinger have the 360 camera and wireless phone charging?

Yes, mine is a 2019. Even checked window sticker and the Kia owners portal. Yes, I have 360 degree camera and wireless charging.

Made me panic for a moment. LOL

Sorry, was not my intention. :)
That was my first thought when I read your post...
There is not a rocker switch on each back passenger door to turn on the heated seats? My 2014 Optima had this.

Should be on the rear doors near the window switches.

Thanks for making me feel a little less dumb. This sort of thing happens to me all the time.

G’day Mates! I was just doing a little checking on mine too regards the GT1 & GT2 differences. Mine is a 2019 Ceramic Silver and has the all the standard GT2 accessories including the SVM, but not the heated rear seats, which is supposed to be a standard GT2 feature. I checked after reading this but no switches on the rear door handle for rear seat heating. Now I’m a little confused, do I have the GT1 OR the GT2??? Or does Australia do everything ass about face, as usual!!????

G'day CJ. I believe our Oz-spec 'GT' model mostly corresponds to the U.S. spec 'GT2' with a few minor differences - we don't get heated outboard rear seats nor the stainless-steel left footrest however we do get a suede headliner (I believe the Yanks only get cloth in the 'GT2' but they did get this in the limited edition 'GTS').

G’day KAS. Well, I reckon that about clears that up, thanks for the heads-up mate! Much appreciated! We learn more about these awesome cars every day! Gotta love the Stinger! Got some more ordered accessories from the Stinger Store yesterday, thanks Sal! Take care in these uncertain times everyone!

So tried the rear heated seats today For first time and nothing. Push the buttons and no light and no heat. Both sides. Anyone run into this.

Car has to be running and not just in the on position.

Thanks, car was running. I was updating my navigation and decided to sit in the back seat. Tried pressing the heat buttons and nothing. No illumination and no heat.

Hmmm, only two things it could be is the seat is not plugged in or the fuse.

the plug is under the seat on the right hand side. if you've removed (or had the seat removed) for any reason that's your likely culprit. I forgot to reconnect it after I installed sound insulation down there and my son called me out on it. In Florida. in 90 degree heat.

Never removed the seat but I’ll take a look and see what I find. Thanks gang.

Removed the rear set and sure enough the connection was not made. So much for quality control. While I was at it I also removed the rubber banded blue plastic seatbelt latch protectors. Appears dealer just shoved them down into the seat. Funny the things that get protected and the things that don’t. Attached is a side note: don’t want the baby getting sunburn. :) Not sure why rotated. Anyways, have a good day and thanks for all the help.19886A58-FF56-4B8C-BB6C-2FAA106EFE7D.webp
