Kia Stinger

As for the destruction of the Korean models here in America - I have a feeling they don't just crush/shred them and that's the end of it. I think they're used in crash tests and things like that...
I' in the same boat. I want a GT2 but not paying over or msrp. I think they priced it 4k too high already but I came to terms with that. Fortunately I'm not buying until oct. Nov 2019 next model year and maybe some thing' will change. Otherwise I am considering the Buick regal gs, and maybe a few others. Just remember "they NEED US more than we need them"If anyone is in need to buy a new car now and a stinger is your choice that mark up is going to steer you away. Just like myself I am not interested in paying msrp for the gt2 and definitely not over. . I think they priced it too high.
Based on kia depreciation levels to me its a hard sell. I don't want my car to be worth nothing 6+ years from now. I generally keep my cars for 6-10 years.
Then considering certain options are not available in the u.s. and your forced to take certain packages for a few features you want. Like why is blind spot not standard. Ventilated seats only on gt2. Shift by wire only gt2. Some things that turn me off how they set up the features on the stinger.
With this launch it has me back on the drawing board. Looks like ill be forced to do the required maintenance on my current car thats coming due and wait longer.
Kia has been #1 in JD Power in initial quality for two years now, I say go for it!!I found a real offer on a GT1 for MSRP and .00179 Money factor, but I'm wondering if I should just lay back and wait a while. Being an early adopter is usually not a great idea. But I do love the idea of leasing this car now, and to hell with it! Guess I'll let my wife be the tie-breaker.

Hi Radman, thanks for the firsthand knowledge on the Infiniti! I have heard great things of the G37.Hey BAM. I’ve owned a G35X for 10 Years now. Simply awesome vehicle. Little issues other than standard maintenance. That is why I am struggling with going to KIA vs. Infiniti.
Yesterday afternoon a KIA dealership near my home had a sample Stinger available for a look see. It could not be taken out on the road as it was not approved for road use? Apparently, the vehicle ownership was that of KIA Motors USA. The car looks as good as you see on the internet. I guess the proof is in the pudding. In two weeks the dealership said the units should arrive. KIA Motors America, indicated in a sales memo that the order mix for the upper Midwest will be heavy for the Stinger Premium and GT model, less than 18% for the Stinger or GT1&2 models. Therefore, the pricing model for GT1 and more importantly the GT2 will be tight.
“Be grateful for the choices you’re given?” This may come as a surprise but there are other cars not manufactured by Kia you can buy, perhaps they should be grateful we’re considering their product. I think their marketing decision is idiotic, they want to sell a product but they want you to buy it the way they want it, that’s a prescription for less sales, not more.I think the guy from Switzerland would have a different take on it. There they only get one choice. You don't need to bad mouth it when there are so many choices for the US. Be grateful for the choices you are given. It's a car, not an investment that's going to make you rich some day.

The success of the Stinger is very important to the company, why they decided not to emulate Burger King and let the buyer have it their way blows my mind, I mean what were they thinking? "We'll limit configurations/colors/options to limit sales", bravo! They need usore than we need them!
Attitudes like this are why they think they can screw our market over. There's always someone willing to accept it. I don't think we should ever be grateful for less options so I have to respectfully disagree with your opinion.I think the guy from Switzerland would have a different take on it. Yes, I agree. Lent people vent. They'll get over it... And the situation IS very unfortunate. It made people who were on the fence just bail on the idea of getting a Stinger. Luckily for Kia, I still think they're going to sell a LOT of them everywhere. And to be understanding of how @KingLamoni and @Brian Keenan feel - it IS sad to see the discontent spill over into so many different discussions. I can see how this will gradually weigh on people's emotions...The complaining is warranted. All of it. Getting screwed on features for seemingly no good reason is annoying and maddening. It turned definite buyers into potential buyers, which is ridiculously dumb if you're trying to sell something. Paying 50k for a depreciating item already isn't smart. Paying that for a car that has been discontented is going to piss people off. Let people vent. They'll get over it...eventually.
Yeah, no one wants to hear people bagging on their dream item they just spent 50k on, but that is what the internet is. Either choose to ignore it, or crawl in a hole somewhere..Yes, I agree. Have you firmly decided against the Stinger? If so what is your next car of choice?Yeah, no one wants to hear people bagging on their dream item they just spent 50k on, but that is what the internet is. Either choose to ignore it, or crawl in a hole somewhere..
I definitely won't get this year's model. As for what I'm going to get, I have no idea. Maybe the G70. Maybe the Jag xe rsport, maybe I'll go nuts and get the lotus Elise, or the alfa 4c. Maybe I'll wait and see if next year's stinger brings back the missing options. I'm in no rush to buy a car. I have an optima right now that gets me around just fine. I can tell you I took the 20k that I pulled out of a CD to use for the stinger and bought my kid a new Jeep for Christmas. So no matter what I probably should wait a year to build up a down payment again..Have you firmly decided against the Stinger? If so what is your next car of choice?
I can understand trying to cash in by decontenting, I don't like the idea but I know how number-crunchers work, but refusing to vary the color palette seems shortsighted at best, why not allow people to pick and choose? Cars are usually a long-term acquisition, even leasing like I do I have to stare at it every day for 3 years, who wants to get a color combination you don't really like?Yeah, no one wants to hear people bagging on their dream item they just spent 50k on, but that is what the internet is. Its not about crushing your dream it's about the people who were so excited about the car and to spend over 50K and still can't get their chosen options. I was a locked in stinger GT2 buyer next year 2019 model. But being honest it is probably now my number 3 unless something changes I am seriously considering the Regal GS but there are few disappointments there also. Over $50,000 is a lot to spend and not get exactly what you wantYeah, no one wants to hear people bagging on their dream item they just spent 50k on, but that is what the internet is.
