I know I know....I drive a Rafa but love it apart from the box which unless u take your time and hold it in drive from R or N for a second, it will move back to N as soon as u take your foot of the brake. Took it to the dealer who stated that yes, there had been similar complaints about it not engaging D and they suggested as above, hold it in D for a second to give the box time to compute. Dealer stated there was no code from KIA and to simply hold it in for the required time...Annoying as I want to get going when I want to, not the car...I have, in the past, had to engage D 5-6 times to get it to stay engaged. Now, by slowing the gear change from R or N to D it will engage.
However, having successfully engaged D, it has once or twice disengaged back to N after some 20 yards of normal take-off...Any comments thanks

Welcome to our stingerforum @Paul Murphy , hope your enjoying your Rafa Stinger, I have not heard of this issue of not engaging in Drive before, but there is so much you can ask and learn here about your Stinger, and share.
So, which colour Rafa did you choose, and where in Australia are you located ?

OK, you must have Panthera Metal Grey then, very nice colour, and also quite rare, I do believe I have seen a Rafa in that same colour, when they just came out, and in the dealerships.

If it is slipping back to neutral after taking off successfully, that is a fault, plain and simple, and Kia should be rectifying it.

Simply not acceptable.

Hi Rafa, would you might putting your location in with your avatar. Thanks.

I'd say have that car back at the dealership quick smart. It's simply unacceptable, I've not heard of this issue from anyone else.
Good luck.

Hey Canada...Kia Australia sponsor the major grandslams in tennis here and Rafa features in their TV advertising for various Kia models...so in their wisdom(as Rafa is very popular in Australia) they produce a spec ed of 75 units with upgrades above the standard model..nice car if u can keep it in gear LOL
