Hey all i decided to order the RaceChip GTS last week. I was very skeptical but optimistic about the product. I have not modded anything else to the car it was completely stock before this install. (For those who might ask.)

First if you do have the app addon i would highly recommend that you start the app or write down the serial number from the controller before you start the install. The instructions provided to me with their updated pdf made this very easy. Everything was well illustrated and labeled properly the only problem i had was getting the camshaft sensor to release because of the weird angle it is connected. Also finding a place to mount the GTS took some time as it is a large box and kia left us little room under the hood. I have attached a picture where it found a home.

So i finally got to take her out for a quick spin this evening. I selected sport mode on the stinger and race mode on the GTS and WOW!!!! It felt like sport mode was comfort mode and this is the new sport. The wheels just bit in and i took off like a rocket it gave me goose bumps and i cannot wait to do some more testing this weekend.

Not all good news though the app needs some work it connects intermittently. Hopefully with time this will change. But i am right now very happy with this product i do plan on getting the before and after dyno soon. I will share more of my experience with the product when i get more time to play with it.

Glad to hear it's working out for you. Very interested in future dyno results.

Enjoy!

Great to hear! Just ordered mine and can't wait to test it out. I'd be interested in seeing your dyno as I have no way to get mine done locally.

Great write-up , if possible, can you write down your own insights on the install? I am sure all of us, including me, who are ordering would appreciate it. And, for everyone else, including me, please add your own differences, if any, during your install. At this moment, not interested in everybodies initial surprise. That we can create a different thread, I just want to know any little shortcuts. Thanks all

Did you do any of the adjustments yourself or did it preform how you wanted right out of the box?

The install is pretty straight forward it is disconnecting three sensors and reconnecting them using the included harness. The connections are labeled with letters (ie. A, B, and C) with pictures of the connections. The only thing i would say is when you start the install. Pop your hood and lock your doors then go put your keys somewhere away from the car for the initial discharge and the install. Also i would figure out where you want to lay your cables before you start connecting and pay attention to the little card they have included for connection orientation.
If i think of anything ill post more.

Oh and I think a low strength 3M double sided tape or some velcro strips would make the install go easier in the location where i put it then the included straps.

Mine preformed just fine at the default 5 setting. Im sure ill see how the other setting work when i get more time later this week.

Yeah i have an AWD one in town that im going to use.

Man, it is great to hear such a positive response. Thank you for being one of if not the first on the forum to get the RaceChip. Glad the butt dyno confirms what we were hoping for. It will be great to see your official dyno results. BTW, if you haven't already, contact customer service and get your $100 discount. Discount + generous return policy make it almost a no brainer. However, I'm still wanting to see what BMS does with their piggyback.

It just so happens that I have a JB4 on the way.. so we planned on meeting up after I get it installed to compare Derek’s with mine..

Are you both otherwise stock?

Yep.. I will be adding a K&N and Eibachs in another week but other than that, it’s stock..

I may also swap the plugs just to be safe and proactive also..

Cool, should be interesting to see how the two chips stack up against each other. You both have the same drivetrain too?

Yes I do believe we are both AWD..

Awesome. Should make for a good comparison. Thanks!

That is great. Glad to see a collaboration. Please document everything when you guys meet up for the tests and try to be in as stock form as possible. Also video recording will help make things easier.

Neat to just do that like that in the US :) In Switzerland, the car has to still fulfill all rules it had before tuning .. i.e. no increase in sound etc. And the worst: It'd have to be tested after tuning for all this by an authority, costs around 4500 USD.

Just don't tell anyone. The only way they'd know is if you told them or showed them, right?
