As the title suggests, I'm currently looking into getting some TSW Sprint rims for my 2.0 Stinger GT-Line. Panthera Metal color. I'll be the first to admit that I am pretty clueless when it comes to cars, but I do need some new wheels for the nicer weather.

I'm looking into getting some 19s for the summer, changing from the 18s I use for the Canadian winters. I just want to know what the best setup would be, that would mitigate any problems in the future. Not too worried about having clearance as little as possible.

Love the car and wish I could comprehend all this information better to figure it out myself, but the last thing I want to do is buy something that wont work or that could ruin this beautiful car.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Edit (misread the question)
If you just want something that works, using the OEM 19" wheel sizes/offsets should work 100%.

If you want something fancier, like 245/285 tires, then you'll have to do a bit of digging..

Thanks for the quick response,

So I was thinking about 19x8.5 at a 40 offset, from what I can find online that seems to be pretty standard for a squared setup. If I want just standard tires for them as well, would the 225/255 be more or less the standard?
I have tried to look this up, so I'm sorry if this has all been asked a billion times. Just wanted a definite answer as most of you guys have the lovely 3.3TT and I'm not sure if there's a difference at all.

My "new" wheel/tire specs are:
245/40-18 653.2 (-1.21%) 18x8.5 ET+35
285/35-18 656.7 (-0.7%) 18x9.5 ET+35

Those fit, a bit tight, but no issues with stock suspension. You should be able to switch the 18 for 19 and subtract 5 from each of the aspect ratios. I.e.
245/35-19 and 285/30-19 ET+35 should be more or less identical, as long as the tire tolerances are the same for 18-19.

Any reason you want to go square with wheels, but staggered with tires? People who get square setups usually get the same wheels and the same tires all around so they can rotate them all around. Stock is 19x8 up front, 19x8.5 in back, I think. Several people have run the OEM 8.5s up front with a 5mm spacer and gone 255 all around (same 8.5s in back with no spacer). So if you're willing to back down on tire size by at least 5mm and there's no wheel clearance issue, 245 all around SHOULD work.

My suggestion - contact getyourwheels.com and bestwheeldeals on here, tell them what tire size you're interested in and ask them to suggest the best wheel size/offset for you. They both seem to know what is "safe" and were very hesistant to go past the safe range, so I don't think they'd steer you wrong. Who knows - maybe they can even beat the local deal? (although, growing up near GTA, I know all about the hassle of ordering a $19.99 video from the US, to end up paying over $60 after it was all said and done with shipping, duty, etc). And these days, crossing the border isn't as easy as it used to be. I'm driving like once a week for groceries, if that.. Almost wish I could cancel the lease to save $$..

Welcome into the open at last, @BrokeBoi.

I agree with @turboAWD to use the pros. I'm not a "car guy" either, and offset is still mystical to me. I've been reading all of these tire and wheel threads almost the entire time I've been on here. Hah. :P

My tire/wheel guys (locally) put me onto TSW "Watkins" and judged the front clearance to a nicety. I'm on OE sized tires (second set of Michelins, PS4S this time, but still 225/40 front 255/35 rear), and they supplied rim widths to make the "stretch" to the side walls balanced, front and rear. Your brake calipers are different, so clearances might be different. I'd be finding a pro tire/wheel shop locally if that's doable.

Thanks for all of that information, honestly I just wanted something that I know works for my car, without any rubbing. When I said squared setup, I just assumed that would be the safest bet, but I think I will contact a local wheel/tire dealer and the websites you linked.

As for the US shipping, I can 100% relate as I have just purchased a few things from the k8stingerstore and got slammed by the shipping fees lol.

Anyways, I appreciate the time you took to respond and for all the useful information. I believe I have a pretty good idea what I'm after now, but I'll definitely contact the people you mentioned. Thanks again!

Hahaha exactly how I feel! I've been lurking through these forums for a few months now trying to figure out the best options for wheels, and feel like I still hadn't made any progress.

Decided to make this post to get more specific help, as there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. Appreciate all the help from everyone so far!
