So my car has been in the shop for a couple days. Hopefully I'll get it back today. As a free loaner I was given a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. I hate most SUVs with a passion but this was free. This thing has tech that make my car look old. For context I have a 2020 base gt so I don't have all the extra tech.

My question is what year gt1/gt2 got the 360 camera? I really like it, makes backing up even more of a breeze. The front facing camera is awesome as well, much better than just having sensors like my car.

This car doesn't have the camera on the side mirrors but it's much better than what I have on my gt. Also, the shifter is weird. I'm assuming it's like the shifter in the gt2. This thing you have to press the button the push on the side then pull it forward all the way to reverse, which is ass backwards. For drive, you do the opposite, pull back all the way. Then it has a button on the top you press for park. Definitely took a couple days to get used to.

My 2019 GT2 has all the cameras.

must be country specific.

My 2018 in Canada has SVM

I meant 2019 for US Model year. yes, other markets did get it for 2018.

The side mirror cameras make it even better.

I don’t use the front that often but the side mirror definitely spoils you and is almost necessary after you’ve gotten used to it.

The Telluride and other Kia vehicles had the side mirror views in the instrument panel in 2019. Never understood why the 2019 GT2 didn't get those features.

As others have said, my US model 2019 GT2 has the 360 camera. It is great for parallel parking and backing up since the rear views are so bad with this car.

My last 4 cars (2 Stingers) had 360° cameras, I won't buy another one without this feature.

My 18 (Canadian model) has 360 cameras.

as far as the shifter goes, i'm still getting used to it.

its a minor gripe, but probably the thing i hate most about this car.

360 degree camera availability depends on the country where you purchased the car. I have an '18 USDM GT2 and 360 degree camera was not available. I understand it was available for '18s in Canada and elsewhere.

Yup, US market GT2 2018 did not get the 360 for whatever reason. 2019 GT2 did. So only the 2018 GT2, US market, missed the boat.

It took me a while to get used to as well, but I'm fine with it now. I previously had a 2022 GT-1 with the traditional shifter. That thing felt really cheap IMHO. Just felt hollow and like it could easily snap. I felt like it was one of the cheapest-feeling frequent touch points in the car. The GT-2 shifter feel much better and more expensive, even though you lose the ability to more easily stay locked in a certain gear.

^^^I can't relate, the 't' shifter is one of the things I like best. the most cheap 'frequent touch' item for me is the hatch release button, I keep expecting it to quit especially when Ima feeling for it and it hasn't clicked open yet. but, in over five years it hasn't failed, that's the opposite of 'cheap'. you gt2 owners can't relate because you have automatic hatch opening / closing.

It's too bad the Stinger is getting canned. I'd really like to have some of those features on my car but it's definitely not worth it to trade in my car for a higher trim level car. Especially since I added the drls, 8" touchscreen and nav. Any other Stinger is essentially the same with just better features. Had they kept making the car, refreshed it again maybe I woulda upgraded.
