How much oil are your catch cans catching?

If you have dual catch cans
1. How much for front? (CCV)
2. How much on rear? (PCV)

Quick update...around 4500 miles driven since the install. Mostly interstate.
PCV side has maybe two tablespoons in it the CCV side is bone dry...not a drop.

Can anyone enlighten me on why that is? Car is stock for now.

Thanks

I have a hunch, but your location might help confirm it.

I only did my PCV side since my buddy did the dual setup and his CCV side is dry.

I did the same. From what I’ve read, the CCV side is only needed if you plan on introducing a tune that increases boost. Curious though, how much oil those with a ccv can and a tune are catching.

SnaredStinger.....your buddy is smart.. and likely very handsome!
Only PCV side will accumulate. Breather side is inlet for fresh air and would only potentially accumulate in extreme crank case pressure situations. Short story, not really required on breather side unless you just like the symmetry.

I'm in Winston-Salem, NC. We had some nasty cold temps lately. What's in it is only dark oil. No condensation. The can in my Fiesta ST caught more gunk but it also ran over 20 psi boost. Just curious why there is nothing on the ccv side. There is also no vacuum to be felt at the dipstick of the can. I thought the ccv side has metering orifice and not a valve, so shouldn't there be some flow always?

We are both running JB4s and the CCv side does not get much at all. That is why I took the money I would have spent on the CCV side catch can and bought another part ;)

Thanks...I'll take it out and put it in our Audi 2.0t

Not collecting much at all, and I'm actually running elevated boost levels.

As others have mentioned, the CCV is dry but mildly "moist" while the PCV side collects. However, I've noticed very little sludge, and about maybe 1/8" in collection every 2000 miles. It's surprisingly low, even to me.

Not much sludge here either. That 1/8 sounds about right. My Fiesta ST had a lot of condensation/water in it but that was in the summer in sticky NC. It collected twice as much with half the engine size but twice the boost almost.
When humidity levels go up around here things might change.
Maybe I'll run the two cans in series on the PCV side and see if anything gets past the first one.

not much at all with it being stock, I installed them for future upgrades they are a must once the boost is upped

Thanks for the explanations above!
Update: emptied the PCV side after 7,500 miles, got 0.8 ounces of oil and a smear of sludge in the bottom of the can. No water at all. All in all this engine doesn't see much above 2,000 RPM as most miles are interstate driven.

Thank you. What brand are you cans? I am thinking about getting a single sxth element can.

I'm using the ADD w1 v3 cans. All hardware is included. I think they have a dual port can now instead of using two cans. IMO that's good enough as the second can is basically dry...in my setup anyway, which is bone stock.

I hav sxth element very nice, I have about 1500 miles on the cans and nothing pcv side. Sxth element nice fit, also like the mounting plates, also they include a check valve.

I just emptied my rear PCV CC and got 3/4" after about 6000mi and jb4. more than I was expecting

35ml from rear after approximately 5000km's. 2nd can bone dry. Not even a sweat.
