Hi all, i went yesterday for a test drive, no previous experience with the 2018 Singer. Kept hearing "muffle sound" every time i accelerated. Tried all drive modes (eco, comfort and sport) all the same, is it normal? Or exhaust problem? Thanks
All Stingers have an 'enhanced' exhaust sound piped through the stereo, however, you can turn it down in the settings menu. I can't remember exactly which setting, as I turned mine down the day I bought it and have never turned it back up. You can't turn it completely off in the 2018, but on the lowest setting you cant really hear it at all.
It may be a little noticeable on a test drive, but one you turn it down you can't even tell it's there. Especially once you put your foot in it a few times.
OE engine sound is quiet by design. The cabin is supposed to be comfortable ambience for long drives. Clearly, a sizeable minority of Stinger drivers want to "rice" their ride. Hah.
Thanks for reply. Coming from 2008 Subaru WRX, it was enjoyable ride, agreed with statement about comfortable cabin but it is not quiet and rear visibility on 2018 models is not great. This used car seems to need new tires and alignment
