QLD Police Stinger...RIP

I know it not the same but I know the firefighters I know in Texas have to wash & polish the engines in their station so no truck wash for them, I believe this is also the case here in OZ as well.
Yes, seen them doing a wash at Baulkham Hills station.

That's the gov't paying for truck/car washes; just not automated ones. The time spent washing is a whole lot more expensive than a quick pass through a tunnel. The cops are on the clock. Add it up.

No I’m saying they won’t fork out the cash to run them through a car wash. They get washed but it’ll be by an officer with a bucket and hose
that's nuts. I work for a medium size city and we have a city car wash where we just drive our cars through it. I've never seen a city vehicle, in any city in the US, ever being washed by hand except of the fire department because their engines are way too big to fit through a car wash.

Magic Clean (where I go during the winter) has the city's vehicles come through quite a lot. I'm guessing that the city sends vehicles to quite a few different automated car washes.

I agree mate it would be so much quicker and easier to just drive through a car wash but our department doesn’t do it. Every Sunday wash and vacuum the cars bucket and hose. We’re a State agency, there may be the odd local agreement where the District may have an agreement with a car wash but there wouldn’t be many because they just don’t want to spend the money. Years ago a district I worked in had an agreement with a local car wash and we were given a heap of tokens for free access but someone put a stop to it and we went back to buckets and hoses

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
In the US, most county and city agencies use either local car washes, or mobile on-site contractors, for their police vehicles.

It's not unusual to see local police vehicles at a car wash.

There have been plenty of news articles over the years about how much they pay. I would expect very little around here - several local fast-food chains and other restaurants offer free food to police.

Back in 07 I did some ride alongs with different departments in the US. The LASD station I was at had low risk inmates washing the patrol cars.

As for the free food I found that at a few places in the US while I was out with different departments, depends on the individual business. There are several places here that will give discounts on meals not they they advertise it, it’s up to the individual business. Often they do it for all Emergency Services.
