Puddle lights OEM ... my thoughts.

Got the KIA OEM puddled installed today at my KIA dealer where I purchased my Stinger. Good install. My only gripe is when I walk to my car and the side view mirrors unfold ... and the side view mirrors puddles come on, the rocker puddles do not. The rocker puddles come on only if you hit the FOB to unlock your door. With headlight delay ON when you exit the car, they stay on which I really like. Anyone who has the OEM puddles, chime in. Love to hear your feedback.

Love mine- don't have a good outdoor pic, but sure do light up the garage...they light up when I'm stepping out of the car and that's what I really needed.

I think the puddle lights are a great touch. The one dislike I have is depending on the angle of the car the LED’s are sometimes visible. Has anyone else noticed this. It kind of cheapens the look. They should be hidden better.

Don't know about your definition of "hidden better" All is good with mine ... except they don't come on when I approach the vehicle. But I can live with that. As Mick says, "you can't always get what you want". I got what I need!!!

Does your car also have a light on the underneath of the side mirrors? I always assumed that was the "puddle light", but maybe it is just related to the 360 camera. It does come on when the mirrors unfold when I come near the car. Lights it up enough to see the ground (no where near as bright as the pictures here though).

It does have the lights under the mirror. Got these for maximum lighting and cool factor.

Yeah they look good. Could be sweet if someone out there makes some overlays to project images or text.

I want to change the colors of the lights in the mirrors and under the door handles to red. Does anyone know what bulbs these are and the procedure to change them out? Red looks way cooler at night and if your eyes are adjusted to dark red doesn't mess with your night vision.

Maybe just use window color acrylic paint over the lenses. Dries transparent.

Yes I have noticed this as well and does look unsightly and an afterthought. If I were to do it again, I’d probably look at after market puddle lights as there’s variations of colour LED’s and number of LED’s per side.
