• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hey guys, I'm from Perth, WA. I've had a V8 Commodore wagon for the last 8 years and am considering changing it up for a Stinger. I've been doing a bit of reading and researching on the Stingers that are available in Perth at the moment. From that I have some queries:

1) The current MY21 gets the most upgrades since the original release - larger screen, bi-modal standard, new wheels and minor styling changes. Anything else that the MY21 gets additionally?
2) Is the larger screen in the MY21 just a larger screen or is the actual system different too?
3) Did much change between the MY18, MY19 and MY20? Is there anywhere where the changes between each MY are listed?
4) On the older models is there any easy way to tell if the optional bi-modal is fitted?
5) To get a new MY21 looks to be like $65K+ (and a 6 month+ wait). Could be possible to get a MY20 for ~$60K or a MY18/19 for ~$52K. At those sort of prices, what would you guys lean towards?

Thanks for any help guys!

Howdy and welcome. That's all. :D

2) i think it is just a larger screen.
3) from the My18 there are a quiet a few changes to present. Ambient lighting, coast mode, there's more but as a MY18 owner of over 3 years there's nothing im really upset about not having. Any model Gt will be a huge upgrade to what you've had.

Thanks, I'm torn between getting a MY18 and saving at least $10k or getting a new MY21. BTW, what's coast mode?

@Tezza283 I owned an MY19 until July last year, just bought a MY18 today. You should be able to get an MY18 for around $50k, an MY19 for few thousand more. Personally, despite "downgrading" from MY19 to MY18, there is not much I miss. Ambient lighting and coasting, bezel on entertainment unit, chrome boot scuff protector etc aren't a big deal. From memory, coasting mode is only when in EC O mode and the engine stays at idle speed to save fuel if your not accelerating. It couples back when you exit ECO mode or accelerate. I was never using ECO Mode enough to note any difference in fuel economy! ;)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Fair enough, thanks for the info! I'm still somewhat between either a MY18/MY19 for hopefully 50ish or just go full new. In perth there aren't too many of either anyway, which makes it harder.

Hi Tezza283
I've had my Stinger going on to 2 years now and I believe there are a few upgrades from the earlier models as well as what has already been mentioned with heated steering wheel and seat different rear tail / brake lights a new GPS and stereo system display (i just updated my GPS and it changed the look of everything) the Bi modal exhaust comes as standard instead of an extra and round tail pipes instead of oval, the digital speedo and on board and side mirror cameras that display on the dash.
I think there may also be a slight upgrade on power but not sure on that

Has *any* Stinger owner ever used ECO Mode?

I use Eco in my Custom engine setting (Comfort in steering and Sport otherwise). Might as well try for optimized mileage any time that you're not doing WOT (WOT is exactly the same in all drive modes).
