I have. 2020 stinger GT 3.3L. I was dealing with a low hum resonance sound almost feels like a tire noise. I recently took it to the dealership and they diagnosed the noise coming from transfer case and front drive shaft (propeller) has some play in it. They ordered the parts so I have to wait but they gave my car back saying it’s safe to drive around but not to go on a road trip. Anyone has theirs replaced ?

I’ve been dealing with a vibration while accelerating between 30-50 mph and hum while coasting for a few months, have had the cv axles checked and changed differential fluids. Tech mentioned that the front drive/propeller shaft could be the culprit, need to schedule a time to have that diagnosed.

Any vibrations with yours right now?

I think I can feel very faint vibrations through gas pedal and floor at certain speed. More noticeable around town driving slow where I have to press on the pedal to accelerate faster in order to get rid of it. That might be related to transfer case. And the hum noise that I am getting is pulsating in nature. Like a low frequency pulsating reasonace coming from under the car in to cabin. This noise is sensitive to weather, surface of the road and speed. I wasted quite a bit of time and money changing the tires and wheel thinking that was the issue. But dealer I go to here is pretty decent and they diagnosed it at first go. Here’s what the report says -

Part 473004J000 - Transfer assy

Part 49100J5000 - Propeller Shaft assy

Diagnosis - found humming noise coming from tranfercase. Also found play on the front drive shaft. Scanned for codes no codes found. Performed air bleed on transfer case and road tested but hum still present. Replace transfer case and front drive shaft

Same thing I’m feeling pretty much, some older genesis g80s had driveshaft vibrations. My car drives and launches like a champ otherwise at full throttle so I doubt my transfer case is bad. Same part number I had found too, was thinking about just buying a new driveshaft and replacing it, I’ll try to get it warrantied first.

Also went from old tires to new with minimal difference and I pulled the awd fuse and it was smooth and quiet so I know it’s front drivetrain related.

Pardon my ignorance but if you pull the awd fuse and car becomes quiet doesn’t it actually indicate that it’s the transfer case that is causing the issue? Transfer case afterall distributing power to your wheels and without the awd it doesn’t really need to send any power to front wheels. You are cutting off the load on transfer case and it stops the noise. I am only talking about the hum the vibration might be due to front driveshaft.

If you pull the fuse no power will be transferred through the case to the front drive axels.
It will remove any issues from the front drivetrain, however if its an issue regarding the rear drive it would remain.
Only the front drive train is controlled through the AWD fuse.

True maybe I misspoke, didn’t really put too many miles on it after pulling the fuse. Just noticed the vibration was gone and it accelerated smoothly through that range of 30-50 mph. It’s a possibility my transfer case could have issues too, the noise I get is only when coasting, it’s a harmonics sound, like you said similar to a tire hum.

Any updates on your issue? I'm getting a humming and steering wheel vibration, brand new wheels, sound was already there when new tires were put on 6 months ago. I'm thinking a wheel bearing issue but i'm also AWD, so i'm curious if transfer case could be part of my issue. I'll try pulling the AWD fuse tomorrow.

I changed to a new set of rims and tires. Then dealer changed transfer case, propeller drive shaft and then passenger side wheel bearing. Now hum is gone but I think I heard the most improvement after wheel bearing change. Now I have slight hum that comes 120-122kmh on uneven roads. But I am not bothered with that since I can keep my speed in other ranges lol. If the noise was 50% loud before evident at any speed now it’s 5% and only evident at that small speed range. I will eventually change the drivers side wheel bearing

I'm thinking a wheel bearing issue
Depending on how far gone your wheel bearing is, you can try pitching the weight of the car onto each wheel to see if it gets noticeably worse on a specific one. I'd try to find somewhere you can have the car cruising and lean it into a turn, then add braking to put weight on the outside front tire.

If the grinding/noise gets worse, it's probably that one, and if it gets better, pitch it the other way to see if it's an inside tire. It's harder to test by throwing weight onto the rear because if you're accelerating hard you may drown everything out, but if the bearing is bad enough it'll still be noticeable.

You can also put the car up on jackstands and spin each wheel by hand, just make sure your parking brake is off and you've done the transmission override to get it into neutral.

My problem is the noise is so minor and really only noticeable from about 35-55 mph when turning the wheel to the right. The weird part is I feel the noise is coming from the right side. Based on what you and others say, the noise should be coming from the LF wheel bearing when I turn right. When turning the wheel even slightly left the noise is gone.

I’ve had the dealer inspect the cv axles and they glanced at the front driveshaft, all looked fine. The vibration has gotten better, almost gone now that it’s below 70 degrees compared to when it was 90+ degrees. I’m at a loss. Guess I’ll deal with it more next summer.

Wow, I feel like we are all on the same river in different boats.... I have vibration in the front... pull the front fuse and the vibration goes away. Guess I should get mine in after Import Alliance this coming weekend.

Yeah that day I pulled the fuse few months ago it was smooth as butter and i was roasting the rear tires lol. Too much fun.

Btw not sure if I updated you since we last discussed, I had my transfer case, front drive shaft and passenger side wheel bearing replaced under warranty. All problems gone very smooth now.

That’s good to hear glad yours is all better now.

I read about someone with a similar issue as mine on Reddit, their issue was the front propellor/driveshaft. I will try to see if I can get it covered under warranty, need to setup an appointment to have them inspect it further.

You know... You can add a switch to do that whenever you want, but you and KIA didn't hear that from me...

Yea I know lol, my wallet wouldn’t appreciate it though. On my 4th set of tires through 66k miles.

Been a while... Shake fixed in mine... Two new front axles and no more shake. Apparently they don't like the power upgrades.
