Powder coating: what color would you choose for your wheels?

Looks good. I'm still debating on my choice. If I do Satin or Gloss black, the cost is $400 to powder coat all 4. This includes removing tires and remounting after the process. If I go with an alternate color, I would simply have to buy the powder myself and take it to them.

Wow, prices are better in the Lone Star State, gloss black out here on the left coast, the powder coat along with wheel/ tire removal, and remounting and re-balancing ran total $790 ($630 for the powder coating of the wheels, $40 per wheel for painting the caps). . . dropped off at 8am and done at 5pm.

I didnt love the cost, but I love the results. If you can do it for half the cost, I would absolutely jump on it!

Oh trust me, I shopped around quite a bit for this deal. Most places that did the powder coat, wanted me to drop off the rims by themselves and also had a 7 day turnaround. I couldn't be without my car for that long. Luckily, I found a place while I was shopping for a partial wrap (roof and trim gloss black). They outsource the powder coat job to a colleague and don't upcharge since I'm getting my wrap with them. I'm definitely giving them my business once I settle on the color.

Lol. I bought new wheels first, THEN gave them my OE wheels to powder coat. That way I wasn't without my car for even half a day. :D

Yeah the, "just bring us the rims only, and we will keep them for a week" was not possible for me. I wish I had the equipment in my garage to do all that work (balancing, rotation, etc.). . . Im just happy I have enough space and equipment to do pretty a pretty good detail on the car. . .

and that would work, if I was purchasing aftermarket wheels. I have no need for two sets of wheels in Texas so it's either powder coat the OEM wheels or buy aftermarket; not both.

"Need" is such a subjective word. :P WANT, now that is the word I can understand.

I went with gloss black yesterday. Gotta put the center caps back on but after I get them painted black
I am contemplating getting this done to my white Stinger. Nice to see the finished product. I am unsure about getting it powder coated or buying new rims completely. I had a bad experience with powder coating on my Jeep TWICE. I wasn't sure on the gloss black compared to the satin black, but this looks pretty good.

I want my wheels to match the black chrome accents , has like a goldish hugh to it in some light. idk if a powder coat could replicate it

This is the color we are getting, but I am having them powder coat my stock 2022 rims

I’d go with gloss black.

If your dark chrome is slightly gold/bronze-ish it will clean up to the factory fresh dark silver if you clay bar or use a bit of light polish on it.

Any color but black. If I spend money on wheels I want to see them, and I like some contrast with the tires.
