Hi all,

Have had a 2022 GT2 for almost a year. Great to this point with close to 20k miles. Just got a check engine light/code P0234 and the car is stuck in some form of limp mode. I think the code means a turbo issue. When under boost, I hear a faint whine that I am worried is a turbo. Sort of like a high pitch drill. I tried shutting the car down and restarting but still have the code and still doesnt feel right under acceleration, although it builds some boost. Acceleration almost feels sporatic or choppy. Takes more gas pedal to get it going. Overall much slower than usual. Car has a catback, air intakes, intercooler, and JB4.

Looking to see if any similar stories or guidance? Wondering if I need to install my stock intakes and intercooler and/or plugs and see about a warranty claim. Im worried I will get denied with some aftermarket parts installed. Is there an easy way to check for a wastegate or turbo failing?

I had a vacuum issue from a catch can hose sucking closed that would put the car in some sort of safety mode with the waste gates wide open. I never receive a CEL though.

Problem resolved from installing Eaton Aeroquip hose which can handle more vacuum than simple fuel hose.

Doesn’t sound like this is your problem exactly, but might make you think of something like a loose vacuum line somewhere.

I’d start by double checking connections to intakes or cuts in hoses.

I’m getting the same noise while boosting. No lights, no codes. I do have code cancellers on my coilovers so I’m not sure if this is being cancelled!?!
