Hi All
I hope you are all safe and well during these extraordinary times.
I am due to test drive a 20 plate stinger with only circa a 1000 miles on the clock next weekend for the first time and after reading the comments on this site i have high expectations.
As this will be an everyday car and a significant investment for myself and family i was just wondering if anybody had any negative comments regarding the car.
Also i know the car requires servicing every 6000 miles can somebody tell me what the service costs are and also what annual car tax is?.
Any feedback on what i can expect and my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome! I have a Micro Blue GT2 AWD with 31k. Leased March of ‘18. Service costs have been minimal. My Kia dealer charges me ~$40-45 for oil changes. The tires were rotated more than several times at $15.00 and once I needed the front rotors machined. That was back at 17k and he tried to charge me but I pushed back and Kia covered that expense. PA requires a safety and emissions inspection annually and since the dealer does all the work on her, they charge 1/2 price at $45. I have no mods as I’m leasing and still have original tires and brake pads. If you buy one with Brembo brakes those pads / rotors are pricier to replace. I’ve seen as much as $350+. I had a squeak with my sunroof and a hatch rattle both were fixed at no charge. I need to get her in for a 30k check but haven’t really been driving very much post Covid. There would be at least 5k more on the odometer based on ‘19 miles driven. This car has the 3.3 engine and does run on premium gas so you’ll have that expense. In my experience this has been a trouble free and a blast to drive car.
Test drive both sizes of engines to feel the comparison and you’ll see the options are spectacular as you go up.
The only thing I wish my car had is a 360 camera. It wasn’t available in ‘18. Like any big investment you’re smart for asking these questions up front. Go meet the service manager and ask if they upchage Stinger owners for oil changes. Some thieves do. Also ask what a brake job would be and how many techs are Stinger trained.
I still REALLY enjoy this car every time I’m in it. Every time. It drives and handles so well that I still get surprised when I’m highway driving at how fast I’m going when I look at the HUD or speedo. Good ownership experience so far from me!

Welcome to the hive. Servicing cost are (in my experience) on par with my previous Japanese cars, and less than friends German cars... One of Kia's strong considerations for you is the warranty... it's great piece of mind. Shop around... there are lots of deals out there (well detailed in the "how to buy a stinger"

Nothing bad comes to mind. I just enjoy driving the car when I get a chance.

Howdy, and welcome.

No negatives with my 28 month old GT1, at c. 35.5K miles.

There are four service levels. This is the Canadian nomenclature for them, but the Kia service intervals are the same. I just had the c. 30K mile "biggie", which comes every 30K miles or so.
Kia service intervals.webp

I also do not go by months; that is just a ripoff, in my humble opinion. I only go in by miles. (funny, that Kia sends an email alert that "your next service is coming soon", based solely on the months into the lease; heh)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I pre purchased at my dealership 5 years of full service not counting on tires wiper blades and batteries of course, everything else from oil change, air filters, wheel rotation is covered for 5 years at a cost of 1200, to give you a big picture my Porsche 981 oil change alone is $400 and the last service was needing a serpentine belt change, spark plug change and alignment to a total cost of around 4,000 USD yest 4,000 USD for one stop at the dealer in 5 years I have owned this overpriced car.
In other words your maintenance fees for this car is going to be a joke, if you can afford to buy a 50,000 something Stinger you most definitely should be able to afford its maintenance.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with the test drive.
