Potential coolant problem

What kind of coolant do you guys use for the stinger? I don't have a lot of experience with cars. Thanks
ZEREX, and at the top of the label it says "Asian" and Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Mazda. That seems pretty dedicated coolant to me. I got it at O'Reilly.

The Kia dealer performed the spark plug change about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've driven about 1,500 miles. I've driven the car about 4,000 miles since I bought it in late October.

Today was the first day the check engine light came on although I've been noticing the rough idle since 2 weeks ago.
Sounds like a duplicate of my experience. I had the plugs changed at the recommended time, in my case a bit past the 42K miles. Had never experienced any roughness until two weeks after the plugs were changed. Go figure. It was intermittent for most of the next 4K miles, but toward the end, the CEL came on and would stay on if I engaged the turbo boost. If I just drove without using boost, like a civilized old guy, the engine ran fine without the CEL. The trouble ended up being a bad coil pack. Once that was changed, the problem of plugs going bad went away. Kia should have checked the coil packs when they did the spark plugs change. Due diligence isn't a thing that Kia is famed for. And this is a good dealer.

Reading the last few posts my $$ was either on improperly gapped plugs or coil packs (remember merlin...). How does one check the coil packs? My guess is in their manipulation during plug changes, something gets damaged?

I'm still less than 12k in and no issues, but it sounds like when you need to do plugs, you might as well change the packs with them to prevent issues.

^^Not unless doing it at the dealer... Then it becomes a warranty job no? Coil packs are not really a maintenance item.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I picked up the car tonight after the KIA dealer serviced it. There is a noticeable increase, from the day I bought the car, in throttle response, acceleration and the woosh sound from the cold air intakes. The tach is now rock steady at about 600 RPMs and the CEL is off. So what did they fix?

According to the invoice the service advisor gave me, the technician found code p0106 for "manifold pressure sensor performance." They found debris in the throttle body which they cleaned. They also performed an "adaptive value reset."

They also said there is no evidence of coolant leaks and the engine oil is not overfilled. They did not charge me for the service.

Strangely, the black plastic tray under the front of the hood in the engine bay is now stained in multiple places from what appear to be drops of some type of fluid they must have used. I was not able to remove the stains with a wet paper towel.

Good stuff, glad they resolved.

They just as easily could have denied the warranty work and said the debris in the throttle body was directly caused by your aftermarket air filters.

Ha. They sold the car to me 2 months ago with those air filters already installed by the previous owner.

I totally understand that, but an inferior dealer could have rejected the warranty claim based on that.

My experience with Kia dealers has not been ......excellent.
